Or: "Astra always had trouble explaining why she disliked her reflection so much"

It's been *checks notes* four months, but i drew my Skyrim oc again!!

Astra's relationship with her father - Ancano - has been tense for as long as she's known him. He abandoned her mother before Astra was born, returning to the Thalmor.

They finally meet, decades later, after Astra's mother is killed in the Markarth Incident. Ancano is the one forced to bring the news to Astra, and what would have been a difficult meeting under good circumstances is irreparably tainted by her mother's death.

To making matters worse, Astra realizes that she is the spitting image of her father. After this meeting, Astra becomes very particular about her warpaint. Its design honors her mother, but also helps diminish her similarities with Ancano.

(There's a good deal more to this story but I'm not going to go on a full backstory rant right now. May have shared some of it already anyways)

As I can’t finish all my other WIPs (fought painting worm bois hand yesterday and had enough) I tried myself in some Art Nouveau style painting. I underestimated the details and sketching plus line-art already took me like 5 hours. Well, onto painting this now and I will try to use watercolour. Uhhh, we’ll see how that works out 😅 Of course I did my baby Nevri first, all my OCs will get one if I succeed in the colouring process 😆

WIP Wednesday

(It's actually Tuesday, but it's Wednesday already somewhere probably)

I got tagged by @truth-01001001-liar 2 weeks ago I think and meant to post an update on the Sil pmv last week, but got overwhelmed by work and forgot. So I'll do it this week!

First up, some metals flowers I spent a disproportionate amount of time on, but I'm happy with.

Next, that metal do-dad from my last wip post, but now fully rendered. I'm just so proud of myself for this one because I have close to 0 experience drawing machines and think I did a good job with this one. Also it's only on screen for like a second so I want to show it off.

And finally, baby Vivec. Unfortunately, Vivec (and Almalexia) only show up once in the video.

I'm in the final stretch of finishing the art for the video, but the last few shots I have left include some complex wide shots of the Clockwork City, so they're going to be very hard. Pray for me.
