OPEN FOR MULTIPLE REPLIES;
An exasperated whine sounds through the room as Eun-Jae buries his hands in his cotton candy hair. Though he isn’t usually one for dramatics or showing that he is struggling with his school work, the test he is currently trying to study for really makes him just want to give up and cry. He hasn’t even had time to play with his dog for the past week and despite already having been studying for hours, he still feels like he isn’t anywhere near ready.
And, yes, maybe he’s had too much coffee in an attempt to keep himself alert and awake, which doesn’t do wonders on his emotional state, but all he can worry about is his grades right now.
“Why can’t I just suddenly be some genius and already know all of this or, like, just have to read things once and be able to remember them?” He complains, shifting in his seat and feeling his stiff body protesting at the movement. "I wanna have that superpower."

hrjisoo:
“no, no.” jisoo retorts upon instinct. in a split second, he realises that response is probably giving the opposite impression. “what i mean is, you don’t have to pay for my food!”
the place is rather full, and what jisoo means is - its as if every single resident or tourist crams in here to fulfil the sardine can effect. he moves his duffel off the seat to unoccupy it for the fair-haired male. jisoo sets his pen aside, unsure if he ought to continue to sketching or if he should converse with the other. it reminds him of the times where he’s stuck on the bus and someone decides to tell them all about their life story. but he’s not so lame that he cant pick up on some social cues, so if the other doesn’t want to talk, he’ll drop it.
scratching idly above his brow, he decides to push forward rather than pick up his phone awkwardly. “do you want to order something? are you okay? sorry, we don’t necessarily have to talk about you. or me. or- well. i’m all ears. or if you’d rather stay quiet, and rest up, i’ll be here for some time until they decide to kick me out, which they have not done to me ever before.” jisoo’s a regular here, he’d say. but he definitely prefers locations that are emptier,
A split second of discomfort, before the other’s words are explained and the boy can let out a breath of relief. “Oh...” He dumbly manages as he patiently waits for the bag to get moved so he can take a seat. He’s shaky on his legs and wonders if he looks as weak as he feels. A fully packed cafe is probably the last place he wants to be, but he knows he needs to try and eat something. And though he would really prefer to just buy something and eat it in the safety of his apartment -- where no one can see him sin, no one can see him being weak and pathetic, forcing food down his throat in order to stay alive -- it’s too far away and he knows his legs won’t be able to carry him there.
“I-- I don’t know.” He doesn’t know if he’s okay, doesn’t know if he wants to order anything. No, he knows he doesn’t want to order anything, but he also knows he has to. He has to eat, but he loves not eating. It’s a vicious cycle in which he constantly has to remind himself that if he goes too far he’ll die. He doesn’t want to die, he just wants to be perfect.
Eun-Jae finally puts his backpack down and pulls his sleeves down over his hands. “Maybe... Maybe a salad?” He then says quietly. The voice in his head is cackling. Weak. He’s so weak. The boy takes another deep breath through his nose and closes his eyes, trying his hardest to push the bad thoughts away; they’re always there and they make him want to scream and cry and punch something. Another deep breath before he dares to open his eyes again. They’re a little unfocused. “I didn’t get much sleep,” His usual excuse, though it isn’t a complete lie. “I had to study for two tests and when I forced myself to go to bed I was too stressed to be able to fall asleep.” He mutters, remaining quiet as he takes a moment to catch up on his surroundings, cinnamon hues falling on the sketch. “What are you drawing?”

hrchaerin:
“I’m sure we can!” Chaerin said, her nose pressed up against the glass too. Seeing the cats made her heart melt, and she instantly wanted to buy one and take it home with her, but alas, she could barely afford to take care of herself, how could she let a creature that depended on her live with her too? “I don’t know about bunnies, but I see the kitties and I mean, who doesn’t want to pet those?” she smiled, turning to look at Eunjae. “But if it’s a fish that’s in a bowl, why would they get mad? Fish are harmless! And you’d clean up after them, wouldn’t you? Same with birds! You could keep them in your room,” she suggested, although the words were simple to say she knew it wasn’t as easy as that. “Ah, I do not, otherwise I would totally let you, but I live by myself, no pets for me, sadly…maybe we can volunteer or something and play with them and take care of them…it’s almost like having them, right?”
“You think we’re allowed to pet the kitties?” Eun-Jae’s eyes lit up, his smile widening. It wasn’t like there were very few things left in life that made him happy, but animals were probably number one. Thin shoulders came up in a shrug. “Hwan is very possessive, but maybe he won’t mind a fish. I don’t know how to take care of fish, though.” He briefly bit down into his bottom lip, thinking about his options. He wasn’t sure if he wanted a fish -- they were a little creepy with their big eyes and strange mouths. Though Eun-Jae didn’t want to judge animals or people by their appearance, he didn’t feel too comfortable at the idea of having a creature in a big tank staring at him all day. “Volunteer?” He echoed. “Like at a shelter or something? I don’t have a lot of time, though. I would love to spend more time with animals, but my schedule is so strict.” He sighed and looked at the kittens again. “They’re so fluffy. I don’t trust Hwan with a kitty, though. He might hurt it.”

“Uh, excuse me, is this seat taken?” His voice sounds unnaturally small and he knows why, but he doesn’t need other people to know. It’s one thing to be proud of his sick habits, but he’s not stupid enough to share them with the rest of the world. Not that this does anything to solve the constant spinning of the space around him and the floor feeling like a ship deck wherever he goes. He’s wobbly on his legs -- people might think he’s drunk or high or both. He’s neither, but he is really tired, just having spent an entire night cramming for some test he knows he’s barely going to pass.
The boy is clutching his backpack. It’s pink with cartoon clouds on it. The kind with cute drawn faces on them. Eun-Jae has bought it the other day because he thought it was pretty, ignoring the stares he got from some old couple as he enthusiastically held the bag in his arms. It doesn’t take much to make the student happy -- his entire life he’s been taught to believe that materialistic items are there to comfort him and keep him content. Perhaps his plushy collection is the biggest example of this.
He offers a weak smile, subtly taking a deep breath through his nose to calm his dizziness. “I, ah... I can pay for your food, if you want? I just need to sit for a bit.”

“Whoa,” Eun-Jae’s eyes are wide with fascination as they wander around the shop, taking in all the different colors and flowers. Yes, maybe he’s a little bit lost and only drawn in by the pleasant scents and beautiful variety of colors and shapes he’s seen through the window, but now he finds it hard to pull himself away. He doesn’t have anyone to buy flowers for in particular and he doubts he’d be very good at taking care of plants (not to mention his dog would probably have destroyed whatever plants he brings home the second he stops paying attention), but he’s in awe of his surroundings nonetheless.
It doesn’t take much to pique the pink-haired boy’s interest like this -- and successfully distract him from his very reluctant search for something to eat that won’t make him completely miserable. If there even is such a thing. He guesses he can buy some apples, maybe.
Shaky fingers brush over the petals of pastel pink peonies that have caught his interest. The flowers are almost the same shade as his hair and he can’t help but feel his lips curl up into a dreamy smile whilst digits brush over the soft texture of the petals. He manages to pull himself away just enough to look for an employee, eyes glazed over slightly when they lock with those of someone else. “Excuse me? Are these hard to take care of?”

❝ so they shut down all the trains and buses… ❞
The cold was slowly but surely seeping into his thin body, despite the four layers of clothing covering his skin. His lips were tightly pressed together to keep his teeth from clattering too hard. It felt like he’d been waiting at the bus stop for an eternity. It was still a new experience to have to rely on public transport like this -- back home he had a private chauffeur that would take him anywhere he needed. But this wasn’t Seoul and though he could afford the luxury, he had been eager to get places the way other people did. Eun-Jae might not have understood the concept of money, but he understood spoiled.
Besides, he liked trains. Even if they were often filled with tired or smelly people who pushed him around like a rag doll. He was small, fragile, oftentimes on the verge of passing out. People paid him no mind as they shoved past him to get into a space too small for the amount of passengers trying to get on. Sometimes it got really hard to breathe. He now understood why his parents got him a driver.
He felt like he should have realized by now, but the kind voice was needed to make him understand. So this was why no one was coming. “Is it the weather?” He managed, wrapping his arms tighter around himself as he shivers. To say it was cold would have been an understatement. Eun-Jae figured there was some kind of snow storm heading their way. “D-Do you think we can call a cab?”

❝ don’t slip! ❞
Eun-Jae knows it had been a bad idea to go outside when half the city is frozen solid, but how else is he supposed to get to class? The dorms aren’t too far away from the main building, so he had to confidence he could make it. He’s not the most aware, his mind still struggling with the subjects he’s supposed to have memorized for today’s test, until a voice snaps him out of his semi dissociation. The warning comes a little too late, however, his sneakers not made for the icy patch in front of him. So he does slip and land on his bum, palms of his hands scraping against the ground and his teeth sinking a little too deep into his bottom lip, cutting the skin.
The shock is visible on his features for a short moment. Then the involuntary tears well up in his eyes as he scrambles to get back up onto his feet, his hands stinging where they’ve been cut open by the stones. His lower lip wobbles as he tries to keep himself together and brushes some dirt from his behind with heavily shaking hands. Teary eyes land on the owner of the voice that warned him and he feels the apples of his pale cheeks heating up with shame. “I’m fine,” He quickly tries to assure, though he’s wobbly on his legs like Bambi on ice, the scare doing nothing to improve the slight dizziness he’s feeling.

“They are so cute!” Eun-Jae was barely able to keep himself from pressing his face against the cool glass of the shop window, cinnamon eyes wide and focused on the momma cat and her kittens inside the pet store. “Do you want to go inside? Do you think they have bunnies we can pet?” A sigh fogged up the window and he caught a warning glance from one of the employees on the other side, which finally made him step back and retreat his hands that left small prints on the glass. The pink haired boy turned around, his attention finally back on Chaerin, bottom lip jutting out in a slight pout. “I want to get another pet, but Hwan would be really mad and I don’t have time for one. I don’t even have time to go to the petting zoo. But I want a bunny and a kitty and fish and pretty birds.” He rambled whilst he pulled his sleeves down over his icy cold fingers. “Do you want a pet? I can visit and pet sit some time? I mean, I can bring my homework and stuff.”

❝ snowball fight? ❞
Eun-Jae’s nose is scrunched up in slight misery, his cold fingers reaching for the snow that’s trying to slide down his neck and into his sweater. The snowball had been unexpected (not that it takes much to catch the boy off guard these days) and he’s still trying to recover from getting hit in the head. His awe and fascination with the white world around him has been short-lived now that he’s had his rude awakening.
And as a child, he really would have jumped at the mention of a snowball fight. He would have loved it. But he’s only just finished the bottom half of the snowman he is working on and he’s already exhausted. Which normally would have prompted him to happily suggest getting cups of hot chocolate to recharge their warmth and energy, but he feels sick at the idea of putting such a sugary drink into his body.
“It’s not a fair fight if you’ve already started it,” He pouts as he busies himself with covering his shaky hands with his gloves. “I think I’m a bit too tired.” He then adds. And it’s embarrassing to have to do so. It’s shameful and hard to admit he’s got no energy to work with. “Maybe we can try to finish this snowman,” Though he really wants to go back inside and lay down; give his aching body a break. “And then warm up inside with some tea?”

sangminhr:
Yah. Who could say no to that face?
“Don’t pout.” Sangmin gives the stranger a fond pat on the head, his hand large enough to palm the top of all that pink hair. “You’re perfect just the size you are.“ And while Sangmin’s aware he’s got a stupid grin on his face, the one his mother calls ‘Oldboy’ because of all the teeth and the shine in his eyes that’s just a bit too much, he can’t help it. He’s weak to cute things.
“Want a boost?” There’s a quirk to his mouth that shows he’s joking. “How many you need?”
Eun-Jae’s eyes widen for a moment and then his sheepish smile is on his face, plush lips curling up as his eyes turn into little crescents. He blushes at the compliment, entirely engrossed in the affection he’s receiving. He’s a bit like his dog like that -- he loves praise and attention. But his dog definitely receives more of it than his owner. “Yeah, you think so?” He asks happily, his previous problems completely forgotten.
“Ah... Two, maybe?” He decides with a tilt of his head, his eyes wandering over the stranger. He’s much taller than himself, charming, attractive, affectionate? It makes him lick his lips subconsciously, before he realizes he’s staring and averts his gaze back to the small jars of cake decoration. “I want to make cupcakes or cookies with them. Would you like some?”

hrsaeran·:
Saeran didn’t like waiting.
It wasn’t that they were particularly impatient, they just didn’t like being out for very long. The biting cold, the wandering eyes, it was all enough to make them very, very dizzy and uncomfortable. With that in mind, hands tucked into pockets as they waited for their friend.
It was at the shock of being pulled into another person’s arms that Saeran realized that time had gotten away from them, that their mind had anxiously wandered while they waited for Eun-Jae to appear, and now that he had Saeran almost wanted him to leave.
They were unlikely friends, but Saeran didn’t dislike the other. To some extents Saeran liked him too much. Eun-Jae was pretty, entertaining, well off, and in extremely rare instances— smart. though, those instances were increasingly few and far between.
A hand awkwardly patted at the others back, and they breathed a sigh of relief as they were released. Then there was Hwan.
Hwan was not the nicest of dogs. He was spoiled. Fat. And bratty. But what else could be expected of of pet the Jay was incapable of telling no?
“Uncle?” Saeran vocalized, the term far more gendered than they liked but they refrained from correcting. Saeran didn’t even know if the other would understand. And even if he did, Saeran wasn’t sure if they were ready to come out that way.
The bright smile never left Eun-Jae’s features as he almost reluctantly let go of his friend and focused his attention back on the jealous dog. Hwan was possessive and spoiled; he probably knew that any food his owner bought most likely would end up in his tummy and he was very happy that way. But the second the pink haired human gave attention to someone else in the pup’s presence, the small animal would get upset.
“Uncle Saeran. Because I’m kind of his dad, right?” He confirmed with a nod as he picked the bag up and held it in his arms, inviting the other to pet the dog, though the dog in question was already growling lowly in the back of its throat. “Hwan, be nice.” Eun-Jae told the Pomeranian, who finally went quiet, ears twitching on the top of his head.
“I didn’t wanna bring him, because he’s been bad this morning. He ripped one of my plushies when I let him into my room and he peed on the floor in the kitchen. I think he’s mad because I’ve been so busy with school, so I’m trying to give him some attention, you know?” He rambled, the pet heavy in his weakened arms. “Do you wanna get kimchi at the market or do you want to go to the store? We should get all kinds of yummy foods for you.”
