Introducing: LCAoRs!
Or... "What if they had Ao3 on the Enterprise-D?"
GitHub repository | Instructions
Because I'm a giant nerd with too many hobbies, I made an Ao3 site skin based off of the computer interface in Star Trek TNG! This was my first attempt at an entire skin, so I hope people like it :)

Do you guys think Barbie exists in the Star Trek universe? Because it would be really funny if they started making like diversity barbies when we discovered aliens were real. Like whenever someone joins the federation, they make barbies of them.
This is Vulcan Barbie, this is Tellarite Barbie, and this is Andorian Barbie, together with Star Fleet Barbie, they make up the Federation Barbies® collection. And then people were like but we want more representation, so they started making a "Federation and friends" collection, and there's Ferengi Barbie, Orion Barbie, Bajorian Barbie etc etc

the keiko obrien method
Who here thinks Keiko is a great partner and has great problem solving abilities?
I always thought that she is. And she knows just how to handle Miles.
Passionate, gentle, yes, unwaveringly supportive, compromising, yet firm with a strong sense of self.
Keiko from the Enterprise is an entirely different person from DS9. Ofcourse they had their issues and miscommunications, but they always came through for each other in the end. And I believe, how Keiko handled things played a significant role in this.
I have built a relationship manager in notion that helps me take a more Keiko like approach and I must tell you, I have been seeing some real progress.
Ofcourse we are a very warm and loving couple, but we do have our share our problems. We are both less hostile in the face of conflict, we are more forthcoming and definitely closer. Stay tuned for the Keiko method dropping soon, exclusive for tumblr.

Not garak braiding trackers into Julian's luscious locks after he hears about him being abducted by Sloan.
There's only one spy who can rizz up to Julian and that's none other than this exiled Cardassian!

Quark is giving classes for young entrepreneurs.
It's mind-blowing how much he earns from the holosuites and I remember someone commenting that they are the best in the sector!

I know Lwaxana was originally written as a horny cougar joke but I kinda love the idea that betazoids have a different reproductive curve than humans and reach peak fertility in their forties or fifties. There would be a whole cultural idea around having to have at least a few decades of life experience and a well established career before you're even considered ready to raise a child.
All this to say that Lwaxana having Deanna in her twenties was probably a huge scandal. Like, this girl from this incredibly prestigious family having the equivalent of a teenage pregnancy and then, because the father is a human the child is basically disabled as well. Prime gossip material.
I believe that is why Lwaxana is like that. She had to learn to not give a shit about other people's opinion very young and she became the legend of a federation ambassador and the woman who will live her best life no matter what just to show them.

julian bashir arrives on cardassia speaking a very mismatch of classical high kardassi. straight up the equivalent of someone speaking like they learned english by reading anything between chaucer and sheakespeare and beowulf.
he's using thee and thou with old-fashioned class-denominating pronouns every which way. he's making grandiloquent statements as per a character in a classical cyclical epic. an expected shipment of red leaf tea is late and he recites the final tragic act of the neverending sacrifice like it's a normal oh shucks kinda thing.
no one can tell if he's messing with them or not. no one in his team wants to tell upper management the one to point out the guy in charge of their local federation relief aid chapter attends his patients with the traditional phrases for offering succor in ancient hebitian poetry.
does it count as dissident ancient hebitian poetry these days? no one wants to venture a guess.
for one thing, this is their weird federation aid doctor and at least he's already properly trained in cultural norms, more or less, even if he does eat rudely fast and he does keep comparing a well-done surgery to the blooming structure of the kanar bush rather floridly.
for another, his husband's in charge of the local textile warehouse and you don't want to get on the bad side of someone who is in charge of clothing the whole district and wields a pair of scissors like he does.

Jadzia loses access to Dax due to a medical issue and reverts to her unjoined personality for an episode or so. It's a self-limited condition. Jadzia is otherwise okay; she can remember everything Jadzia Dax did and said while they were joined, but she has no memories of Dax prior to Jadzia, and she feels distinctly different from Jadzia Dax.
She feels like her connection to Ben Sisko disappeared with her memories of Curzon Dax. Would he like her if she weren't Dax?
Jadzia is far more shy and introverted than Dax, and it completely changes her dynamic with Kira. Now it's Kira trying to coax Jadzia out of her comfort zone
Unjoined Jadzia sees Julian from an entirely different perspective. She sees his awkward, insecure tendencies with greater clarity
Quark still thinks she's beautiful, but she just isn't comfortable bantering with Ferengi and playing Tongo with them like Jadzia was
Jadzia and Jake get along like gangbusters
Miles is pleased that Jadzia lost none of her intellect with the loss of Dax; they get along fine
Odo is grateful that unjoined Dax has no interest in playing practical jokes on him and pegs her as someone who'll never cause a security issue
What if Jadzia's family shows up on the station (her parents and/or her sister)? What if old family stuff comes up? Maybe they approved/disapproved of her joining? Maybe they preferred her unjoined, and this annoys Jadzia who never wanted anything more than to be joined?

star trek: in this episode a character will go through a deeply traumatic and life-changing series of experiences that would presumably have significant ramifications for their future and the way they interact with others
star trek: …and we will never mention it again :)
