We’ve essentially paused all shipping now until lockdown is loosened off. The store is still open, records are still rad - but don’t expect anything until after Easter at the earliest. Pretty stressful time innit mates. Our thanks love and gratitude out to all front line workers in services, health and supermarkets. Everyone else, do these people the respect of staying the fuck home and looking after each other. And remember, the torys have made this harder by leaving so much of their guidance open to interpretation and cloudy. They have still yet to issue proper plans with regards to being in public, getting supplies etc. All non essential businesses should have been underwritten and closed weeks ago. All people should have had universal income triggered at the same time. The gov don’t plan this way because the free market is more important to rich people. The freedom to act outside cloudy guidelines is a higher priority than your kids at school or your nans. All the deaths are on your pals Boris’s head. Fuck him. Link in bio! Out April 15th - Yumiko Morioka - RESONANCE on the very excellent @metronrecords ( @meitei.japan Komachi). Two years in the making, this beautiful reissue from 1987 has been redesigned by Jack at Mètron, and mastered by Brandon @seance_centre. Very much fully embracing the environmental music of the era coming out of Japan but with a more conscious attention to role of synth-led melody and it’s interplay with delicate Satie-piano movements. Morioka herself moved from Japan to California in the 90s and resigned this record to the archives of time, until Jack Hardwicke got in touch, and the pair have been working on this beautifully realised reappraisal since. Last few copies of this! Robert Oumaou’s Gwaksonné project saw three LP’s emerge in the 80s. Vwayagé is a deep exploration of pre-colonial Créole poetics, rhythms and politics. Focusing on the use of drum and voice his music explores endless protest folk, ambient atmospheres, electronic and spiritual jazz meditations, somehow simultaneously sharing brainwaves with #thegratefuldead and #pharoahsanders without too much confusion.
