If the show was still going on they might have made Lucy’s issues with Holly to be more about Norrie and that just-
Ugh
Just imagine; Lucy goes back to her old town. She sees Norrie and she talks to her a bit. The people in her town still blame her. Her and her mother are so awkward around each other, and Lucy starts regretting going back (remember Lucy doesn’t have any sister in the show, if she came back it probably would’ve been for Norrie)
Imagine if she went back because she wanted to see if there was hope between her and her mother??? Only to be met with either anger or indifference??? And imagine if her mother says something about her life in London (in the book her mother and her sisters are mentioned to frown at even the slightest change in her accent) something along the lines of “your replaceable there” or “Norrie should’ve been there with you but you killed her” or anything that’ll make Lucy insecure or guilty about her life in Portland Row.
Then she comes back, and she’s happy to be at a place she actually feels welcomed in. She tries to forget everything. And oh look! The house is clean, George and Lockwood put in some effort to welcome her home. She wasn’t forgotten easily, this was her home, they do care. And she does deserve that, she didn’t kill Norrie.
And then Holly is sitting at her desk.
Like…yes. Give me the angst.

I think one of the most overlooked parts of lockwood and co lore is lucy's sisters. I barely hear people in this fandom mention them. they're literally haunting the narrative while being alive and well. we never got to know them, still lucy claims that her sisters were a bigger deal in raising her than her own mother.
