honestly itona struggles after the tentacles are taken from him, hard. he complains in the anime that he doesn’t feel any weaker but he’s in a lot of pain.

the episode before when the tentacles were in him, they told us that it was eating at his braincells, gnawing at his brain matter and ready to kill it’s host body. he was losing control of his own body, convulsing on the floor and foaming at the mouth, saying it was burning him from the inside out.

itona for sure has major brain damage from those being grafted to him, twitches, muscle spasms, chronic migraines, memory loss, brain fog, and a ton more honestly. we can see in the flashback with his dad that he used to have a full range of emotion, so it also killed his emote capabilities. we see he can crack a smile, and is blank and monotone mostly, and can be aggressively upset, and at the end, feel intense and cry. but, only heavy negative emotions get him, and slight joy can sometimes be seen, rarely.
