I havenāt really seen any of the more recent U.S. election news hitting tumblr yet so hereās some updates (now edited with sources added):
Thereās evidence of Trump cheating and interfering with the election.
Possible Russian interference.
Mail-in ballots are not being counted or ārecognizedā in multiple (notably swing) states.
30+ bomb threats were called in and shut down polling stations on Election Day.
20+ million votes are still unaccounted for, and thatās just to have the same voter turnout as 2020.
There was record voter turnout and new/first-time voter registration this year. We definitely should be well over the turnout in 2020.
U.S. citizens are using this site to demand, not only a recount, but a complete investigation into election fraud and interference for the reasons stated above:
Here is what I submitted as an example:
An investigation for election interference and fraud is required. We desperately need a recount or even a revote. The American people deserve the right to a free and fair election. There has been evidence unveiled of Trump cheating and committing election fraud which is illegal. There is some evidence of possible Russian interference. At least 30+ bomb threats were called in to polling places. Multiple, notably swing states, have ballots unaccounted for and voting machines not registering votes. Ballots and ballot boxes were tampered with and burned. Over 20 million votes that we know of are unaccounted for. With record turnout and new voter registration this year, there should be no possibility that there are less votes than even in the 2020 election.
Sources (working on finding more links but if anyone wants to add info, itās appreciated):
FBI addressing Russian interference and bomb threats:
Emails released by Rachael Bellis (private account, canāt share original tweet) confirming Trump committing election fraud:
Pennsylvania's Centre County officials say they are working with their ballot scanner vendor to figure out why the county's mail-in ballot data is "not being recognized when uploaded to the elections software:ā
Wisconsin recount:
[ID:
A screenshot with a link and information for contacting the White House directly regarding election fraud. The instructions include choosing to leave a comment to President Joe Biden directly and to select election security as the reason.
The screenshot then instructs people to include any or all of the following information in a paragraph as a comment to the president:
32 fake bomb threats were called into Democratic leaning poll places, rendering polling places closed for at least an hour.
A lot of people reporting their ballots were not counted for various reasons.
This all occurred in swing states.
This is too coincidental that these things happen and swing in his favor after months of hinting at foul play.
Directly state that an investigation for tampering, interference, fraud is required, not just a recount.

If it makes any of you feel better, Donald Trump will have an uphill battle to change the constitution. He will need:
-2/3 of Senators (60)
-2/3 of the House of Representatives (290)
-3/4 of the states (38)
In 2026, 33 senate seats will be up for grabs, and weāll be able to vote for people who are against Trump and his ideals.
Breathe and remain hopeful because itās not over. We can still fight and make Trumpās last four years hell.

Plan for the next 4+ years:
NO romantic relationships with men
Delete/deactivate your dating apps
Arm yourself
Learn how to fight
Keep yourself healthy, educated, and self-sufficient
Make lots of female friends and stand with them
Join womens groups/activities
Speak up for yourself and protest injustice
Help your fellow woman
Prioritize women's art (books, art, ect)
Do absolutely NOTHING to impress men
Actively speak over/report/block men in online discussions
Live your life FOR YOU
If you've heard about a woman you know having an abortion, no, you didn't. Keep it to yourself.
Prioritize YOURSELF and OTHER WOMEN (not men)
Don't lose hope, ladies. We will prevail! š«

I am SO fucking proud of Missouri!!! I cannot believe I get to be apart of this historic moment; according to Missourians for Constitutional Freedom, Missouri was the first state to enact a total abortion ban when Roe v. Wade was overturned, and now is the FIRST STATE TO OVERTURN A TOTAL ABORTION BAN! I signed the petition to get this amendment on the ballot and then I helped vote it into law! MISSOURI WOMEN HAVE SPOKEN AND WE WANT REPRODUCTIVE FREEDOM!

I know it's been said a million times before but at my core I am just in complete disbelief that so many people could vote for a person like trump, who essentially behaves like a dumber version of a typical cartoon villain. Like how?

I swear to god one of these days were going to see a video of Amaury Guichon and he's going to be making some wings and they are going to look dope as hell, the detail of each feather will be breathtaking, he'll spray paint them to perfection, but as the video goes on, he's not building any sort of winged creature, just the wings. And then there's a human-sized harness (also made of chocolate, somehow, he can do it). And he's attaching the wings to the harness. And he's putting the harness on and he demonstrates how he can flap the wings. And then he'll be off. Out the window and up and up and up. And we'll be looking at the livestream (it's a livestream now) and we'll scream "No, Amaury, the sun! It's going to melt the wings!". But he knows this already. And he is free.

So there's something I want to say re: intentionally withholding your vote, and I want to do it without coming across as condescending or dismissive.
I've worked as a field organizer in two campaigns, 2010 and 2012, and my job was to help turnout the vote for Democratic candidates up and down the ticket. Technology may have changed, but people are still knocking on doors for specific voters the way they were 12 years ago.
If you say you're not voting/voting 3rd party, the campaign volunteer is supposed to mark that and move on. Their job, in the final month of the election, is to make sure the campaign's supporters have all the information and resources they need to cast a vote.
They aren't collecting data on why you're withholding your vote. They aren't submitting opinion polling results to the campaign. Something like 155 million people voted in the 2020 election, and if you say you're not voting, the campaign is not going to waste a volunteer's time and morale begging you to vote when there are literally millions of other voters to turn out.
Let me repeat that: The campaign does not track why you're not voting. They simply note your vote is not a priority for turnout and move on.
I say this because I see a lot of promotion of non-voting like that's a boycott, when the function is not the same. A boycott is a coordinated mass refusal to engage with an institutionāwhich sounds similar if you see a vote as a good or service to withhold. Unfortunately, it's not.
A vote is a choice you're making as part of a community hiring committee. Your abstention doesn't prevent someone from being hired. It just lowers the threshold for the worst candidate to succeed.
All this to say: In my direct experience as an organizer, abstaining from the vote sends a message. That message is not "You need to try harder to win my vote." It's "Don't waste time on me."

So, a comparatively high amount of states are voting on the fate of ranked choice voting this year. Missouri is voting on whether or not to kill it, Alaska is voting on whether or not to keep it, and most importantly, Nevada, Oregon and Idaho are voting on whether or not to adopt ranked choice voting, with maybe Colorado to follow.
And if you live in these states, even if you don't want to vote at the top of the ticket, I urge you to get out there and vote in favor of ranked choice voting on all of them.
Like, the two-party monopoly is a big part of the reason why politics in this country is so shit, and a big part of that is our "first past the post" system making it basically mathematically impossible for candidates outside of them to win anything beyond a local or state level.
So, if you want to try and break the cycle of voting for the lesser evil, of bipartisan cruelty towards the Global South and the country's own citizens alike, we need to change this and we need to vote on it where we can.

My dream for the election is that itās definitive. I want a 2012-style Election Day where everyone built it up beforehand to possibly be close but then the results start rolling in and it was like āOh, nevermind. Itās obviously Obama. Everyone go to bed.ā
I just want voters to put a stake right through the heart of Trumpism so that it crumbles to ash before our eyes. Thatās the dream.
#an election night where I can actually go to bed?? whatās that like#but hey#listen I would take the gray hairs of a 2020-style election again if it just means she wins

Headlines across eight years. Who you vote for really does matter. None of these headlines delve into the Boar's Head listeria outbreak because I can only post ten photos in one post. But the slaughter house self regulate headline? Yup, that's why.
#there is so much in your face insanity happening in the world and around this election#that itās scarily easy to forget all the slightly less in your face insane things have happened bc of the trump administration#so yeah#if youāre wondering why suddenly listeria is everywhere and McDonaldās is killing people
