Final

I am a student form the faculty of Architecture. 

I wanted to study Industrial Design before, but my mother doesn’t hope me to study this major. Therefore, I obeyed my mother’s thought.

However, I am still interest in Industrial design especially the automotive design. I believed a good design is a cohesion of designers’ ideas and soul. 

And I indeed tried to draw some sketches, and pay close attention to this area. 

Be honest, I missed the last three tutorials. But I attended all remaining tutorials. For the lessons and assessments from Architecture were stressful to me. I did not have enough time and energy to go to uni all days.

I feel apologetic to the tutors and myself. But, I deeply think that I have learnt a lot from the Ides tutorials, I also used these skills on the making of architecture model .

Week 12 - Photography

This week, we should create a photo essay. My style is to take a square photo and make them indifferent.

The challenging I found is I cannot create enough styles to fit the requirements. I am trapped by my old thinking and ways to photography.

I really enjoy taking photos for I like recording the experience of life by shooting some landscapes and the change of whether. I believe that we should pay attention on the details of everything we met and life will be more colorful.

Week 11 - Perspective Drawing (2D & 3D)

This week’s tutorial is to draw a chair. The dimension unit is inch. Front and section views are provided, and we need to draw a 3-d view according to these resources. However, when I drew these views, I unfortunately left the ruler in my classmate’s home. Therefore, I has to draw them by limited tools.

Firstly, I drew some sub lines. And then, I drew a outline by observing the provided diagrams. The next step is to add some details. Finally, I gave some dimensions to the front section views.

However, when I finished the 3-d view, I found a huge mistake that the lines of the lack of chair are wrong. This is because the chair is consisted by a complex structure covered by canvas. Although I have drawn too many pictures like this.

The thing I learnt is to be focused. When I fished the drawings and tying the words, I am so tired that I cannot do this work carefully. But, I have no time to do it again. Therefore, I will change the bad habit from now on!

WEEK 10

Measuring technique

To measure a mini electric drill, I used a simple way to do it. Firstly, I used a pencil to draw an easy contour of electric drill. At the same time, I divided the electric drill into 16 parts. Then, I measured the length of different parts, it is more convenient for me if I can obtain the data. According to the length of space between two two parts/levels. Firstly, I made a simple model of the middle part. And then, redid it and added some frames.

After the preparation, I imported the collected data into Auto cad. And then, I drew a similar contour, ,the steps are similar with the hand-drawing part. 

At the making model part. Firstly, I made a simple model of the middle part for I want to have a clear understand to the model. And then, I redid it and added some frames step by step.

When measuring the electric drill , the first try did not go well. Fortunately, although I cannot make sure whether the electric drill is stable and is vertical or horizontal to the plane, I still successfully finished it. I had a similar problem when I glued it. Therefore, I used some wasted foam board to ensure the stable level.

WEEK 8-9

I chose a coffee machine. But I wanted to use two color and views to show the material and design style.

Firstly, I made the part of front view.

And added some easy renderings.

Then, highlight, shading, and text etc.

Lastly, made a background which looks like a table.

Second step is making the top view.

Similar steps with making front view.

And added a small background for top view.

A topic added and finish.

WEEK 5

At first, I drew a simple sketch. It could be more easier for me to draw the three views on Auto Cad. Similarly, I added a series of data.

However, at the progress of drawing. I found there is a small problem which I cannot connect all lines with the data availed.

Therefore, I ask two tutors and discuss with my classmates. And then, I draw a better front view.

And the third step, I should finish the side view. I need to improve the details of it. I think it was much easier for me to hatch it. For I learnt how to do it last year.

The last step is to add some important data.

I did not spend too much on this project. For all steps could be finished on Auto cad. I just need to change the degrees and enter the data.

WEEK4

At first, I made a wrong 3-view. I felt something were wrong, therefore, I asked a tutor,then he found my ,mistakes and told me how to correct it.

Then I corrected them. And each view was rotated correctly. 

After class, I added some data on it.

However, the data I added cannot be seen directly on the screen. Therefore, I did not do the step.

Today, tutor gave us some advises. And I really finished the problem and successfully add some visible data on Auto cad.

WEEK3

Today, we learnt how to draw the sections of different views of a model. I still think it is easy to do. The only difficult is to distinguish the several levels of the model. At first, I made a mistake which I did not draw the second level of the model. When I depicted the lines, I found the mistake and corrected it. After I finished shoot the pictures, I found another mistake, I didn’t sign all names of different drawings. At the same time, the dirty from the rulers and some other tools will make the paper untidy. But it cannot be solved easily for I cannot clean the ruler before each step.

At another side, I should admit, I made a mistake on the drawing of bottom view and the type sitting of 4 drawing. And after asking the teachers, I corrected the mistakes and be so grateful to every tutor!

WEEK 2

This is the second project. I think I have been familiar with this course. And at the beginning of the class, I read the introduction of the sheet. Then, I drew a little three-view sample for convenience. I think everything went well at the process of making the drawings. The only difficult is measuring the degree of a curve which I cannot access the data directly. Then I thought for three times and asked my mate to ensure the data. It is believed that communication between partners also benefits the result of the project. At the meantime, I think the auxiliary view also is hard to finish exactly. And I was a little curious to sign the data of different sides.

The second part of the project, I chose a stamper which my name is sculptured on it. It is a traditional form of Chinese culture to prove the owner’s identity. It seems like a cuboid, and there is a dome on the end of the stamper. The material is wood. When I finish drawing, I have a question which is how to draw the part of name, with a form of picture or a letter?

WEEK 1

I think i learnt a lot during the process of drawing instrument exercises, although i felt a little confused. Fortunately, i finished all steps after class. At the beginning of the exercise, i was quite in judicial that i did not follow the requirements which had been written on the paper. However, after tutor’s unique guidance. i found a easier way to finish the task. i think the most difficult part is to control the error while using the different rulers and pens. For the thickness of tools are not same and the force i could not totally manage when i drew the circles. Another problem is fixing the errror. For the draft was made by pencil, we can erase the mistake. But a trouble occurs by this process is the lines which are correct coulf also be erased. The process of fixing erased space could bring some errors again. The important thing i learnt was to keep a calm mindset during the draft process. When we be focused on the missions, most errors will be avoided.

ADAD1002 - Assessment 3 Process Imagining through 3D Printing and Virtual Reality technologies 3D printing It is believed that 3D printing can be used in many areas and closely connected with individual life. By then, most factories will be weed out and only the heavy industry will survive because it cannot be replaced temporally. Imagine a world where you can print anything you like, clothing, design will be focused by a single company. The consumers will customize their clothes by providing figure data to the online system. Also, they can design the decoration freely. Then, they just need to make the computer connected to the printer, download the attachment to finish the clothes. To daily diet, user just need to buy the raw materials. And the printer will print the food directly. Similarly, the main structure of the house will be built by the major industry, when they finish it. The consumer just need to print the small object such as furniture. If people want to have a trip, they can print the traffic tools, users just need to provide a certain amount of energy. Virtual reality When people surf on the Internet, they can try on clothes. They just need to provide their own full-length photography to have a look what will be like if they wear the clothes. Students can have lessons if they are not convenient to have class if they are quite far away from the schools or fall ill. Also, the students can get exercises by using VR, this action will decrease the perception of danger to some high-risk professions. Talking about the censorship of Internet in China, the first thing I thought, is the difference of regimes among different areas or countries. And it has been reflected in many aspects. Also, Internet can be influenced by regime. Therefore, the censorship of Internet is set up by national governments under such a massive Internet environment. However, it can be concluded the otherness of Internet censorship is closely connected by culture especially the censorship between eastern and western. And China and American are the best example. The topic of this section is the censorship in China. As a Chinese, I am deeply affected by this system. In china, a series of social applications which are quite popular in western countries cannot be downloaded freely and some search engines are forbidden because of the sensitive information. It is quite hard for us to access the new and objective information from foreign media. This defective condition caused the upper-middle people name this censorship as a wall, and the progress of browsing the foreign Internet as over the wall. And as a user of Internet in China, I have the absolute discourse power after combining the reality and my thought. I believe that the censorship of Internet can be seen as a sieve. This system can keep the most visitors away from the information’s which are not fit for them to some extent. And the reasons why the governments try to set up a series of rules on Internet. In my opinion, there are many factors. Such as, the benefits of the authorities cannot be injured, they want to hide somethings to ensure their benefits, and thus, they must built an environment of blockage of access to information. But in the final analysis, this censorship is set up for the peace and stable of society, it indirectly limits the negative thoughts from the people who cannot think comprehensively. This is because the population quality and their financial conditions are different, they could be unsatisfied with the society and try to take revenge on society. However, this system still has some drawbacks, and it will cause a false appearance that Internet in China is quite close. It seems like that this censorship is airtight, however, if you try to look for some other entrance to access more data, you can find some small provided holes for users. In fact, we can use some VPN to get some information which cannot directly accessed in common. Although, sometimes, it is not convenient for us because the time we waste to find the ways to link the outer websites. But to the massive quality of population in China, the percentage of the people who need to have the information is much smaller than the people who do not need to. This is why I name it as filter mesh.
