In just half a week of volunteering with CONAFOR, we have already had the opportunity to develop leadership skills and foster a deep sense of responsibility toward the planet. Every tree we plant, every workshop we conduct, and every community we engage with has a lasting impact, driving us to continue our efforts with even more dedication.

Our short time with CONAFOR has shown us that it's not just about planting trees; it's about sowing the seeds of a sustainable future. Each day, we are reminded that the small actions we take collectively have the power to create lasting change. We are inspired by the resilience of nature and motivated by the knowledge that we are part of a larger movement striving to protect and preserve the environment for generations to come.

Ana Paula Esquivel Campos

CONAFOR (Comisión Nacional Forestal) is a public agency created with the objective of developing and promoting forest conservation and restoration activities, as well as participating in the formulation of plans, programs and the application of sustainable forest development policy.

It has programs to support the owners of forests, jungles, mangroves, wetlands and arid zones, to care for, improve and sustainably use the forest resources present in these ecosystems, this year the Sustainable Forestry Development for Well-Being Program, Environmental Compensation 2024 and Biodiversity Patrimony Fund (FPB)

Seeking to protect and conserve the forest matter in Mexico.

Javier Alejandro Díaz García

CONAFOR objective is to develop and promote activities for protection, conservation and restoration in the forestry sector, in addition to participating in the creation and application of sustainable forestry development policies. Its functions include reforestation, prevention and combating of forest fires, payment for environmental services, environmental awareness, as well as monitoring and evaluation of forest conditions in Mexico.

Azalea Sarita García Salcido

Respect the rules of pruning and care: Make sure that any pruning or maintenance is carried out in a professional and appropriate manner so as not to harm the health of the trees.

Take care of the environment of the trees: Protects existing trees by avoiding the compaction of the soil near their roots and avoiding the use of pesticides and chemicals that can damage them

Participate in reforestation: Participate in reforestation and tree planting initiatives to help restore degraded areas and expand green areas

Support sustainable wood: Buy wood products that come from certified sources such as CONAFOR (National Forestry Commission), which guarantee responsible forest management.

Reduce the carbon footprint: Decrease your carbon footprint through energy efficiency, the use of sustainable transport and the reduction of waste, since climate change can contribute to deforestation.

Sara Janet Villegas Hernández

I would like many people to participate in this project to help the environment. I hope you can follow these recommendations: -Reduce the use of paper and forest products to reduce forest clearing. -Recycle and reuse paper, cardboard, and other materials. This is important because it teaches us to give these materials a new life and reduces consumption. -Support reforestation efforts. If we plant more trees, we will help the ecosystem and produce oxygen. -Protect natural areas. We should not allow the damage to these areas because it could harm the soil and make It impossible to plant more trees. -Educate others about the importance of protecting the environment. If we teach others about this, future generations will be informed to preserve the environment and the consequences if they don't do it.

Lizeth Gonzalez Almeida

As members of the volunteer team of CONAFOR environmental program, we feel deeply committed to the conservation of our natural resources. CONAFOR, located in various regions of the country, works tirelessly to protect our forests and promote sustainable practices.

Being part of this team is an enriching experience; Every day we learn about the importance of reforestation and biodiversity. We meet in local communities, where we not only plant trees, but also share knowledge and promote environmental awareness. The camaraderie among the volunteers is palpable, and together we feel like we are making a significant difference in the fight against climate change.

It is gratifying to see how our actions contribute to the restoration of ecosystems and the strengthening of the relationship between people and nature. We are proud to be part of this noble cause and to work alongside people who are passionate about the environment.
