I wanna see what would’ve happened if Mithrun ended up spending time in the dungeons with Senshi
He would’ve come out fully healed I just know it because Senshi gives such comforting and formative advice like he did for Izutsumi
Mithrun has already shown that the right saying the right thing can help him immensely too, like when Kabru helped him in ch. 94

I feel like some aspects of Dungeon Meshi can relate to capitalism vs environmentalism
All the stuff with hurricanes and climate change got my brain going. And of course that means I need to relate it back to my current obsession. But it led me to believe the dungeons are a metaphor for what can happen if capitalism reaches stage four and the damaging effect it can have on the world
Like the underground governor acting as a representation of those on power and capitalistic greed. Even though he is directly told the effects propagating the dungeon will have on the world, he still chooses to sacrifice it and others for profit, even if it means the world will be destroyed (and that they can’t make any more money if everyone is dead). Kinda like environment scientists getting arrested.
The demon representing late stage capitalism leading to climate change/the destruction of humanity and it’s shown in the way the demon starts out small and progressively gets bigger as it consumes more desires
On the other hand, Senshi and the orcs seem to represent environmentalism and natural living. They focus on maintaining the dungeon’s ecosystem and only taking what they need to survive. Senshi also makes sure to clean up after himself and shares these ideals with the group. (Well, Senshi represents active environmentalism more so than the orcs who simply “live off the land”).
Dungeon Meshi’s narrative consistently advocates for environmentalism from the beginning to the very end where they use every single part of Falin’s body to the point where they use the plants to break down her bones as nutrition, which is another example of giving back to the earth (I remember being impressed about that detail when I first read the chapter).
I don’t know how to end this post exactly but yeah those are my thoughts
#dungeon meshi#dunmeshi#delicious in dungeon#kabru#senshi#winged lion#laios touden#marcille donato#chilchuck tims#dunmeshi spoilers#idk if this has been said already but o well
