psa to my rp partners : There are days when I am a speed demon with replies, but there are also days ( weeks/months ) when I am a snail. But NEVER think that I have forgotten about you. Sometimes, things get lost or they are in my drafts and my muse is being a derp and screaming “lol nope”. If you know it’s my turn to reply, NEVER be afraid to message me and inform me. Even with thread tracker, it can get messy, especially with RL in the way.

{Grief and a Guilty Conscience}

While Kosuke does display sadness for Tatara’s death when it is mentioned or thought of in front of people, it’s often dulled down simply because he would rather not display too much. As open a person as he tries to be, he is quite guarded when it comes to sadness.

And especially the guilt he feels deep down when he thinks about the death of their good friend.

The words he had said to Tatara when he had caught Eric and him just in time haunt his mind. Almost as if he had somehow left a curse on the boy. He knows it’s really not his fault, but he still feels that tremendous pang of guilt every time someone mentions it because the words will echo in his head. 

He’s more liable to break down on his own than in front of somebody else about it though, so if something is extremely upsetting you are more likely to see him try and gently flee from the situation to calm himself on his own.

Shallow, heavy breathing is a trait most often. A sometimes unshakable man starts to trembles. Sobs and tears don’t often come, but no matter what he does have to take a while to recover from the process. To steady his heart before he goes back to daily life.

If you do somehow catch him in the middle of grieving or feeling guilt, he will avoid the subject. Try to carefully maneuver his way out of the situation. He may even lie that it’s a petty little thing. Or something small. That he saw a hurt animal or something and it made him feel upset that he couldn’t help. He’s not too afraid of hurting his pride with it if he thinks the lie is convincing.
