Carol’s mouth creaked upward into a small smile at Noelle’s warm reply. Glancing at her with a confirming nod, she was reminded that although her youngest resembled herself the most… that glimmer in her eye proved that she was indeed Rudolph’s daughter just as much as she was hers.
Drat... she still couldn’t think of something to do with Noelle. But, that was easily remedied.
“What do you have in mind for us to do?"
hometown-mayor:
First, Noelle mentioned Rudy and now Dess? If it were anyone else besides her daughter, Carol would have assumed the person speaking to her was trying to emotionally manipulate her using her slowly disappearing family as fodder. But Carol knew Noelle wouldn’t do such a thing.
Not her helpless little girl.
“You have to be stronger, Noelle. Don’t you understand!?” Her hands clentched the steering wheel as she spoke. She immediately regretted her words when she glanced at Noelle nervously clutching her arm.
If this is the hand she’s being dealt – if this is the fate of her family – if the Angel is indifferent to her prayers… she has to find another way to deal with her situation.
“Look.” She cleared her throat. “How about we… spend the evening together.” Carol’s mind raced to mention something she can do with Noelle – anything. The only thing she could think of were things they would do as a family. Her sentence ended just like that, as if at the edge of a cliff: a space of nothing, because it was always Rudolph who came up with those kinds of bonding activities.
🎄 Noelle normally looks out the window as the car was in motion, it always made her feel like time flying by her, but in reality time can be fat or slow depends on the point of views. The female reindeer leans back. Her ears went down slightly at her mother’s words about her being stronger.
🎄 Noelle was strong, thanks to the fleeting dream she had where Bredly, Susie, Kris and her were in a strange world, and she stood up for herself, but it was a dream, or at least she was told. Noelle’s ears perked up at her mother saying “I won’t mind” she said to her with a smile “I just want to be with you mum”

First, Noelle mentioned Rudy and now Dess? If it were anyone else besides her daughter, Carol would have assumed the person speaking to her was trying to emotionally manipulate her using her slowly disappearing family as fodder. But Carol knew Noelle wouldn't do such a thing.
Not her helpless little girl.
"You have to be stronger, Noelle. Don't you understand!?" Her hands clentched the steering wheel as she spoke. She immediately regretted her words when she glanced at Noelle nervously clutching her arm.
If this is the hand she's being dealt -- if this is the fate of her family -- if the Angel is indifferent to her prayers... she has to find another way to deal with her situation.
"Look." She cleared her throat. "How about we... spend the evening together." Carol's mind raced to mention something she can do with Noelle -- anything. The only thing she could think of were things they would do as a family. Her sentence ended just like that, as if at the edge of a cliff: a space of nothing, because it was always Rudolph who came up with those kinds of bonding activities.
hometown-mayor:
Carol filed in the back of her mind that this “Susie” was friends with Krismas. Of course. Susie’s slouched posture and half-covered face didn’t seem all that inviting for any form of respectable socialization. She decided to not verbalize her lack of surprise about what Noelle said about that girl, and instead silently climbed into the driver’s seat.
The mention of Rudy was enough for Carol to drop that fixed, stern mayoral expression she wore, even when she was far from her Town Hall office. If Noelle looked well enough, she would have noticed her mother’s expression droop. Her eyes hidden behind square-rimmed glasses lifted back up to refocus on turning the key in the ignition. Despite their periodic tiffs, she missed the man.
Carol sighed. “Your father needs his rest.” Her usual even tone had a hint of deflation. “The more rest he gets, the sooner he’ll feel better and be discharged from the hospital.”
All other times Rudolph had gotten sick, his diagnoses were found and promptly treated: Pneumonia, once. Grief-induced fatigue, the other. But this time…? Why was it so hard for doctors to find out what’s wrong…?
She gave a stern look at Noelle. “Must you visit him every day?”
🎄 Noelle gingerly looked to the side holding her arm with her hand. Her eyes looked up at her mother. Hearing her mother words “I know he needs rest, but seeing him helps me. I miss Dess badly and… you’re not around… so I see him as much as I can”

Do you like fashion and accessories?
Dear concerned citizen, Is this a question for little old me? How sweet of you! Yes, I do enjoy fashion and accessories. I have different sets of rings for my large fingers that match the fingers on my smaller hands. My current favorite fashion trend is bead-braided rings. They match perfectly with my outfits! ...I'm sorry, did you intend this question for Mrs. Holiday? She has stepped out of the office at this moment. Answering this question from my observations, the only visible accessories I see on her is her wedding ring. I do apologize for being unable to ask the mayor. But do keep in mind even if she is in office, she is normally too occupied to answer such questions.
Respectfully,
Front Desk

In terms of religiosity, I'd say Carol holds to strongest belief in the Angel amongst the Holiday family.
It's totally has nothing to do with my story arc of her. ...
I mean, if does, but let's pretend I didn't say it. XD
Bedtime: Does your muse read their child to sleep? Are there any other bedtime routines they have? For Carol
That one Parent's Day ask meme from months ago. RIP.
Ooh hey, a rare Carol question! She has her own blog that's still under construction and intended to be a companion blog to this one, so I'm completely fine with answering questions about Carol on here. ^^
When Dess and Noelle were young and small enough to sleep in their parents' bed, Carol gave them belly and back rubs to soothe them to sleep. They were so tiny. It was hard for her to believe that such perfect little people came from her.
When the girls got old and brave enough to sleep in their own rooms -- and it was her turn to put them to bed -- the process of trial-and-error proved that Dess liked having lullabies sung to her and Noelle preferred praying with her mother before falling asleep.

Dear concerned citizen,
Please do not send personal questions or speculations relating to the Mayor or her family. This ask box is for town matters only.

Sometimes when Carol is talking to herself or to her loved ones, she may unconsciously begin to speak French.
Tell me a preconeption/headcanon you have for Carol and I’ll rate how accurate it is on a scale of 1 to 10
6
She'd slip into French more when talking to herself. With loved ones, it would be a select few words and phrases peppering the conversation (not sure what they are yet XD).

hometown-mayor:
“I see…” Carol trailed off. “And classmate, I assume?” Noelle’s friend had a disheveled look and hair covering her face. The kind of person you wouldn’t want your daughter to associate with. The girl had “bad influence” written all over her!
Carol pressed the button of her keychain remote to unlock the doors of the shiny and stylish family vehicle, too nice and certainly too big for a family of three.
“Do tell your friend it’s good manners to introduce herself to her friend’s mother instead of leaving without saying a word.”
🎄 Noelle shifted her eyes slightly having a small hard time looking into her mother’s eyes “Susie isn’t good with socialization” she smiled “Kris and her do their own things” Noelle had her arms behind her back “Mom, are you going to see dad soon?”

"I see..." Carol trailed off. "And classmate, I assume?" Noelle's friend had a disheveled look and hair covering her face. The kind of person you wouldn't want your daughter to associate with. The girl had "bad influence" written all over her!
Carol pressed the button of her keychain remote to unlock the doors of the shiny and stylish family vehicle, too nice and certainly too big for a family of three.
"Do tell your friend it's good manners to introduce herself to her friend's mother instead of leaving without saying a word."
huds-hub asked: "Noelle sweetheart, who was that girl you were… hanging out with?“ Mrs. Holiday had seen her daughter with Susie from her office window…
( @hometown-mayor )
🎄 Noelle waved bye to her crush still having that dreamy look on her face. Sadly she had to snap back to reality as the Reindeer looked up to see her mother “She’s my friend mom” she told her.
