The Capital Development Authority (CDA) will start giving possession of the plots to the allottees of Park Enclave Housing Project from December 28 2015.
Initially, the possession will be given in the areas where all development work has been completed while possession in the rest of areas, where final touches are being given, will be allotted by February 2016. Chairman CDA visited the site of Park Enclave to review the progress of ongoing development work.
The project director briefed the chairman about the progress of development activities. Though the development work remained stalled for years but the authority finally devised a plan last year and re-started development work in August 2014.
The CDA chairman directed the project director to ensure completion of work in the next few days so that the process of possession could be started by the end of December.

Provincial Minister for Education Rana Mashhood Ahmed Khan has said that government has approved a piece of land for setting up an Information Technology University in Lahore Knowledge Park.
The IT University is planned to be constructed over an area of about 100 acre within park. The Board of Directors of Lahore Knowledge Park has decided to give land for the university in two phases. The minister informed media about it while presiding over a meeting of Lahore Knowledge Park.
This university will be a state of the art university and pave the way for the arrival of international standard universities in Pakistan. He further said that Lahore Knowledge Park is a revolutionary idea to put the country on the road to progress and prosperity through promotion of knowledge based economy and the blending of applied sciences and the corporate sector.

Chief Minister Punjab Shahbaz Sharif has inaugurated the first tourist double-decker bus service in Lahore at Punjab Stadium.
He has not just inaugurated the service but was amongst the first batch of passengers who travelled on it. Chief Minister bought ticket for boarding the bus that has been reintroduced in Lahore after decades. He visited the bus terminal and souvenir centre besides travelling by the bus and greeted people there.
Shahbaz proudly announced the inauguration of first tourist bus in the country and stated that the bus service will be free for senior citizens, below 10 years and special persons. Students will be charged Rs100 per head for the tour while the rest of people will have to pay Rs200 for the ride between Qadafi Stadium and Minar-r-Pakistan. He said that colourful rickshaws have also been arranged in the Walled City for passengers.

The Islamabad High Court (IHC) has directed the chairman CDA to redress the grievances of a petitioner, who filed a petition against the supply of polluted water to the residents of the federal city.
A single bench of IHC conducted the hearing of the petition and directed the respondents to listen and redress the grievances of the petitioner. In the plea, the petitioner requested the court to direct the civic authority for improving the condition of water filtration plants to ensure the provision of safe drinking water to the residents.
He alleged that the residents of Islamabad are forced to drink polluted and contaminated drinking water due to the negligence of the civic authority. Despite the installation of some 28 water filtration plants and spending millions of rupees, the citizens are drinking polluted water.

The Punjab Education Foundation (PEF) has formally launched “School Improvement Programme” under pilot project to help the academically weak partners.
It will help them improve their academics and start providing quality education to the students. For this purpose, 110 needy partner schools from 21 different districts including Lahore have been selected and offered to join SIP.
These schools will be provided subject specialists, who will perform miscellaneous duties in these schools to help improve the quality. PEF Managing Director stated during the launching ceremony of SIP programme that 38 subject specialists would be attached with 110 selected schools.
These specialists will perform as Monitor, Facilitator & Trainer (MFT) so that the deficient schools could get rid of their weakness and improve the overall academic standards.

The Punjab Education Foundation (PEF) has announced to initiate the second round of documents collection and agreements signing of newly selected private schools for educational partnership under phase nine of Foundation Assisted Schools (FAS) programme.
Around 108 private schools, selected from 15 different districts including Lahore, are invited to visit PEF head office from May 11 to May 14 for signing partnership agreements. 179 private partners from 10 different southern Punjab districts are directed to visit regional office Multan from May 11 to May 15 for signing agreements.
Meanwhile, 25 private school partners from eight northern districts are asked to visit regional office in Rawalpindi. PEF has launched the biggest expansion of its foundation assisted school program under phase nine, to open good quality educational institutions for who cannot access it due to various reasons.
FAS is a public private partnership based program aimed to educate the needy in private schools.

Punjab Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif has showed satisfaction on the development of Rawalpindi-Islamabad Metro bus project and hoped that it will bring revolution in the transportation sector.
“Metro bus project has introduced a new transport culture in the province and it will result in speedy, economical, comfortable and safe travelling facility to the masses,” the CM said while addressing a meeting in Rawalpindi.
Shahbaz Sharif visited the 23-kilometre track and various stations of metro bus project from Sadar Rawalpindi to Pak Secretariat Islamabad. During his 7 hours long visit to Rawalpindi, the CM said a mass transit system of international standard is being introduced to the masses.
The project is of international standard so people from all walks of life can use it to reach their places of work and other destinations on time.
