Every product we offer at home on earth has its own history! In our online magazine, we talk about our ceramic hearts made by people with a range of special needs living in a residential home in the Austrian countryside.  Artistically talented residents or those who are keen on art, work in creative workshops creating among other things our ceramic hearts and experience self-efficacy and appreciation. A product made with love you can find in our two shops in Barcelona.

Happy Africa Day!
Today is the Africa Day. We want to remember this continent with its music. In home on earth you can find handmade instruments originally from Africa with natural and recycled materials.
Didgeridoo. This instrument, mostly known for the Aborigines in Australia, comes ins a round, spiralshaped form. The didgeridoo is made of Sono wood. It is split in two pieces, carved and then glued back together. Its spiral shap reminds of a horn. The spiral didgeridoos are monotonal in the notes C, C#, D, E and F. Made in Indonesia.

Kalimba. Instrument with origen from Africa, known as the "African thumb piano". Made of recycled coconuts from Asia.

Djembe. The most famous drum from West Africa. Handmade of a wooden shell, carved and covered on the top with goat skin. The nylon rope around keeps the drum tuned. This Djembe drum comes with a carved pattern in the wood.

Cas Cas. Mix of Maracas and Castanets. Traditionally made from a pair of seed pods in West Africa. These come from Indonesia.

Bamboo Xylophone. The bamboo xylophone is a handmade instrument with origin from Asia and Africa.
