After almost 11 years, today is my last day at Medica. Very thankful for everything I experienced. But most importantly, very lucky to have spent so many years with so many wonderful people. (at Medica)

Two famous actors.
Both of them are pretty good actors.
When they are at work, they make people believe something they aren’t.
Both play the role of corrupt politicians pretending to be good.
One of them is one of my favorites, the other one is one of my least.
Never thought they had so much in common.

Under The Volcano, by Mr. Anthony @Bourdain
Great follow up to his Mexico City #partsUnknown.

Americans love Mexican food. We consume nachos, tacos, burritos, tortas, enchiladas, tamales and anything resembling Mexican in enormous quantities. We love Mexican beverages, happily knocking back huge amounts of tequila, mezcal and Mexican beer every year. We love Mexican people—as we sure...

In America, we have guns to protect ourselves from the government should it become tyrant and to protect ourselves form life threatening conflicts with others... like if someone throws popcorn at you at the movies over texting, you can defend yourself by shooting them dead, in self defense. I mean, how else would you settle this one.
Don't let us take our guns. Right?

This is a fantastic read about snowfalls and the loud silence they produce…
I've always been fascinated and slightly terrified about not being able to hear the three feet of snow being dumped on us every now and then.

Not Allowing Apps to Push Notifications still allows them to do so.
Maybe this is something that's not new and it may be apparently widespread, but I have recently noticed that when some apps (games are the biggest offenders) are installed on iOS, they ask if you want to allow such game to send push notifications.
For instance, re-installed an app, and got this prompt...
Tumblr media
Even when you select "Don't Allow", the app is still added to Notification Center, allowed badges, and allows to show on Lock Screen.
Tumblr media
What is going on?
Any insight will be appreciated.
