Dude, a 25-ish year old who's waiting until his 15 year old best friend turns 18 to date him is quite literally what grooming is and that's not something we should normalize. I dunno how much fictional shit you've seen in your life, or how many fandoms you've been in, but you're looking at this way too literally, like they're fictional characters okay, all we have to go off are the clues that a game gives us, in the game Axel in no way gives off any sort of vibe that he's grooming him, if that's how you view it that's fine, you must really hate Axel if that's the case. I just gave a scenario as an example about how it's dumb because they can't even age, I'm just saying if they could ever both be legally adults an age gap wouldn't even matter, but their ages are frozen in time so it's made into a big deal.

can't we normalize that fictional age gaps are fucking dumb because they can't even age to the point it becomes normalized? like Axel could literally be the most patient best friend, keep his feelings hidden and wait till Roxas turns 18 to confess and become boyfriends, but no one likes to imagine that scenario Inuyasha, my mans got a high school girlfriend, he's like 200 years old tho, where's the Inuyasha and Kagome slander at?! Oh but they're older now? Can't we apply that logic to other couples? goddamn, if by the the time KH4 ends they age up the cast the AkuRoku fans need to rise back up and say is it okay now?! It better fucking be!

Just so you know, I have immaculate tastes in ships. Alhaitham and Kaveh? *chef's kiss* Hinata and Kageyama? Precious volleyball dorks, Sasaki and Miyano? Canon. Lemme just provide this example for you, there's this one anime called Kamisama Kiss, watched it like 11 years ago? Point is, if Tomoe and Nanami can be together and Tomoe is literally 500+ years old then Axel and Roxas can be together, because in the fictional world of anime a 500+ year age gap can be ignored without complaint so whatever unconfirmed age Axel has can be ignored because his age isn't even confirmed and it can't be anywhere near as bad as 500+ years.

I was recently on Twitter (or X if you'd rather call it that) and was blasted for making a comment about Roxas being Axel's boyfriend, being told ew look at their age gap, they're more sibling coded, etc, etc... Point is I've been shipping them for at least 15 to 16 years now, maybe not so actively anymore, but in very discreet ways like using 813 in my username's and room code passwords, people legit have thought August 13th was my birthday. Anyways, I digress, I haven't actively been in the AkuRoku side of the fandom in years and thought, is it dead? Do people hate them now? Is it wrong to ship them nowadays? Because fuck that! I don't care, whether it's right or wrong, this was my first m/m ship, my intro into the world of yaoi, AkuRoku opened my eyes to a world I had never seen before, they are a ship that will always be dear to me no matter what anyone says, got it memorized?
