Summary:

Grubi has always had a favorite type of teammate to nest with: idiots in love. Lucky for him, he knows exactly which pair to pick when his nesting instincts finally set in during the Kraken’s second season.

Sneak peek under the cut:

Adam’s grin turns wider. “You’re rather demanding, aren’t you? Why am I not surprised? But hey, that’s okay. I’m gonna take good care of you, Grubi.”

Good. He likes hearing that. He also likes the spike in Adam’s scent.

Confidence, pride, excitement.

It’s a mix so strong Grubi can’t help but lean in and scent the big, strong alpha, his nose practically buried in Adam’s neck.

“You like the way I smell?” the Swede asks, and Grubi ignores the amusement coloring his voice. Instead, his purr is answer enough. “Guess my shower was thorough enough then.”

There are some more chuckles around them, and he’s sure he hears Burky comment something. He ignores it. While he loves having Burky’s familiar scent around he’s more focused on all those happy and contented scents – until there’s one that doesn’t fit.

Turning away from Adam, he follows his nose, follows his instincts to see where this dissonance is coming from. He already knows, of course, so when his eyes land on his favorite – and only – omega defenseman, he almost grins in victory.

Because Grubi knows what jealousy smells like.

And in this case, it’s exactly what he was waiting for.

Krakenblr Comment Fest

Calling all from the deep! To celebrate the hard work of all the writers in our fandom, we've created a month-long event all about supporting Kraken fics.

HOW IT WORKS:

1. generate a bingo card with this unique bingo generator!

2. find some fics! this might be the fic you've had waiting as an open tab for months, or the tab you've meant to comment on but never gotten around to. many Kraken fics can be tracked using the Seattle Kraken NHL Team AO3 tag - some fics might not be under this tag, and can be tracked through character tags, pairing tags, etc!

3. start commenting! big or small, make an effort to leave as many comments as you can. shoot for bingo!

4. earn prizes! honor system applies in the deep - i know at least a couple authors willing to give prizes for bingos/blackouts!!! check out the notes of this post for more info!!

some fun additional/extra ways to participate:

- comment on a primer, or another non-hrpf type of kraken writing!

- share fic recs with your friends!

- keep the commenting going! leave comments on other hrpf fics, even if they won't officially count towards the bingo card!

Would you ever write Stars fic? And if so, who would you write/pair?

And, ahhh, I'm really not sure about it. On the one hand, Bennguin was the ship that pulled me into hrpf in the first place and thanks to that, I'm still a Stars fan 💚 on the other hand, I'm not (yet) deeply enough connected to the team as it is nowadays. I know that might make no sense but thanks to all the Bennguin fics I've read I probably know more about the roster from back then than about the current one 😅

But hey, if you have a good Stars discord for me to join or if you can pull me into a current ship or even just give me an idea that will spark my muse right away, then I'm certainly not opposed 👀

and ahhh, what a good question!! I guess it's no secret that I love agis' Shelly so, so much, and whenever I can, I love to give her a cameo or even a bigger role (obviously always with a note in the AN's pointing out where she originated).

As for writing from her pov, I don't think I would feel comfortable with that because, in the end, she is and always will be @angry-geno-is-score's character, and while I love that agis lets us play with her, I wouldn't want to "take over her voice" so to speak. I hope that makes sense 😅

BUT... I did fall in love with Lars the Lion from my own fic The Way Our Horizons Meet, so maaaaybe there's something I could do there 🤔
