Hockey Highlights, End of Season
A late congratulations goes out to the Chicago Blackhawks who struck hard to capture the franchise first Stanley Cup home win since 1938. The Blackhawks won with a 2-0 shutout in Game 6 against the Tampa Bay Lighting.
It would be a shame to not commend the Boltz on a season well played, ending Second in the league overall going into the Playoffs. It was also recently discovered that the Lightnings Primary Goalie Ben Bishop, #30, played the remaining few games against the Blackhawks with a lower body injury.
Here is a quick look at some of the Lightnings achievements throughout the season. http://lightning.nhl.com/club/m_stats.htm
As expected, Chicago Blackhawks top Defenseman, and one of the best in the league, Duncan Keith, #2, was awarded the Conn Smyth Trophy and a potential nominee for the Norris Trophy for the 2014-2015 season.
In Other News: ECHL Kelly Cup Finals.
#1 Allen Americans vs #2 South Carolina Stingrays - Series Tied 3-3. Game 7 is scheduled  for Sunday, June 14 at 4:05 p.m. at Allen.
AHL Calder Cup Playoffs:     The 2015 Calder Cup playoffs of theAmerican Hockey League began on April 22, 2015, with the playoff format that was introduced in 2012. The sixteen teams that qualified, eight from each conference, will play best-of-five series in the conference quarterfinals, with the playoffs to continue with best-of-seven series for the conference semi-finals, conference finals, and Calder Cupfinals. The Manchester Monarchs defeated the Utica Comets in five games to win the Calder Cup for the first time in franchise history, and the last prior to their relocation as the Ontario Reign.

Stanley Cup Finals Game 6, First Period
Twenty minutes down in Game 6 of the Stanley Cup Finals. The Hawks lead the series 3 to 2 vs the Tampa Bay Lightning; the score is still tied at zero as we head into this first intermission. Corey Crawford has been killing it in net this evening with no less than four huge saves against Stamkos and the Boltz. He's given a few rebounds but Duncan Keith and Marian Hossa have been ensuring the safety of the crease! With the Hawks one win away from their third Stanley Cup win in six seasons; Duncan Keith is guaranteed the Conn Smyth trophy with the W for the season. Second period is only minutes away, Let's Go Hawks!!!

Hawks vs Boltz: Stanley Cup Finals Predictions
With an incredible win over the Ducks in Anaheim the Chicago Blackhawks will travel to Tampa Bay to take on the Lightning in Game 1 of the Stanley Cup Finals May 3rd 2015 at 1900.
The Lightning are ranked at number two overall in the league, and the Hawks rank 4th, but that doesn’t matter to most fans who say the Blackhawks will be taking their third Stanley Cup win in seven games.
A lot of NHL fans are rooting for the Hawks to win while many others have stated they don’t care, or would rather see a different team take the win this season. Of course Boltz fans are cheering on their home team who haven’t seen a Cup win since 2004, but many more are saying that with players like Kane, Toews, Keith and Hossa Stamkos doesn’t stand a chance at leading the team to a victory in 2015.
There was a lot of talk of how the Hawks weren’t going to be able to pull it off against the Ducks who ranked number 1 in the league, but they did, now they pack up their bags and head to Tampa to be lead in goal by Corey Crawford who hasn’t had a great run throughout the season, but always manages to pull out a win.
The win is still to be determined, who’s your pick for Stanley Cup Champions in 2015, and in how many games?

Blackhawks at Ducks: Western Conference Finals Game 2
The score sat at 2-1 at the end of the second. The Blackhawks grabbed the early lead with goals scored by Andrew Shaw, assisted by Duncan Keith and Jonathan Toews. Marian Hossa scored a PP goal assisted by Bryan Bickell and Brad Richards. Anaheim's Andrew Cogliano scored the only goal in the first period assisted by Nate Thompson and Cam Fowler. The Ducks caught up with a goal scored by Corey Perry in the second assisted by Ryan Getzlaf and Sami Vatanen. Chicago had 56 shots on goal to Anaheim's 62, no goals were scored in the third taking the game into OT. Andrew Shaw knocked the puck out of thin air and into the net with only his head in 2OT, but the goal was disallowed. This feat was quickly said to be quite possibly the most remarkable disallowed goal in NHL history. Chicago goes on to defeat Anaheim 3-2 in triple OT with a goal scored by Marcus Kruger who stood ready at the goal line. Kruger was assisted by Brent Seabrook and Johnny Oduya. The series is now tied 1-1. Anaheim will be visiting Chicago for game 3 of this series Thursday May 21st. The puck drops at 7:00pm and can be viewed on NBCSN.

Blackhawks at Ducks: Western Conference Finals Game 1
It was a fast paced game, the kind of game both teams are known for. The puck drops and the fans go wild at the Honda Center in Anaheim California for Game 1 of the Western Conference Finals. With Andersen in net for the Ducks and Crawford in net for the Blackhawks, both goalies brought much confidence in a solid win over one another. It came as an incredible let down to Chicago fans everywhere as the Ducks took the win with a 4-1 victory over the Blackhawks, scoring quickly in the first period, and having three more goals to follow sealing the deal for the Anaheim Ducks in game 1 over the Chicago Blackhawks. The Ducks are 5-0 in the postseason when scoring first, and were 36-5-6 during the regular season.
