What Makes HNA Ranch Special... You’re here for your horse right? They are always needing something! Always a vet bill, feed bill, shoes bill, we won’t even mention further training… oh, but we will. I would like to introduce myself. My name is Alley Penshorn, and I grew up in a small town called Blanco, Tx. I had a complicated upbringing, but found my outlet through horses. I started my equine endeavor there in Blanco, and through college have found myself in Stephenville, TX. Enough about the boring stuff. I have been providing equine services since 2005. I’ve worked with rescue horses, mustangs, performance studs, high class weanlings, donkeys, and everything in-between. I’ve helped horses with aggression problems, foundering ponies become more comfortable, and taught wild horses to trust and grow a relationship with their handler. My foundation consists of trainers such as Clinton Anderson, Chris Cox, and Monty Roberts, but so many trainers have influenced me that I have created my own method – one that works for each horse. I tweak my program when needed, because not all horses think or respond to the same methods. In 2013, I accomplished one of my greatest feats and set an entirely new standard for myself. That April, I adopted a wild mustang colt. In September, I showed him in the Youth MustangMillion, (http://www.mustangmillion.com/results/#y_overall). I tied for second place, missing first place by less than a 2% point difference. I have made a promise to myself to compete again in the Extreme Mustang Makeover. Goofy boy did NOT want the reins on his neck, he kept shaking them off when I was trying to get a pic! Worked on some ground reining, then had our first ride. He did really great!
