1989 (Taylor's Version)
Out with the old and in with the new. So long as the old and new are basically the same thing, of course. 2023 is the new 2014. 1989 (Taylor's Version) is the new 1989. Standing and smiling against a pale blue sky, flanked by the seagulls, is the new sepia-toned polaroid shot taken just above the waist and just below the eyes. And @taylorswift is the new @taylorswift. The more things change, the more they stay the same, which is perhaps the best way of understanding eras. They are the same, and they are different.
Well, for you folk who are fans of things that are the different versions of the same thing, y'all would have enjoyed precisely 12 AM EST last night, when Friday became the new Thursday. And when, more importantly, Tay-Tay reblessed the world with the rerelease of a modern-day icon, 1989.
Welcome to 1989. Only this time, it's Taylor's Version. A very happy rerelease day to all who celebrate x

I keep seeing people making fun of using growled, hissed, roared, snarled etc in writing and it’s like.
have you never heard someone speak with the gravel in their voice when they get angry? Because that’s what a growl is.
Have you never heard someone sharply whisper something through the thin space of their teeth? Or when your mother sharply told you to stop it in public as a kid when you were acting up/being too loud? Because that’s what a hiss is.
Have you never heard a man get so blackout angry that their voice BOOMS through the house? Because that’s what a roar is.
Have you never seen someone bare their teeth while talking to accentuate their frustration or anger while speaking with a vicious tone? Because that’s what snarling is.
It’s not meant to be a literal animal noise. For the love of god, not every description is literal. I get some people are genuinely confused, but also some of these people are genuinely unimaginative as fuck.

I taught for 3 years and recently left the profession. Here's a list of things I've noticed about myself since leaving teaching:
I don't have anxiety when I get ready for work anymore. I used to be so scared about experiencing violence in the work place, and I used to be so worried about student behavior that my hands would shake when I got ready and started driving to work.
I sleep way better. Last school year, I would wake up 1-3 times a night or would lay in bed for hours worried about school.
My free time is mine. I used to dissociate soooo much after getting home from work. Now, I enjoy reading, writing, walking my dog, spending time with my partner, catching up on TV shows--everything I used to love without the feeling of impending doom.
I started crocheting! I've wanted to for years but always felt like it was such a big hassle and too much to take on. I'm on my second project and it's so fun.
I'm less irritable with my loved ones. My partner took the brunt of my emotions when I got home from school. Now, though, we get to enjoy time together.
I'm still looking for a new career, but I'm mostly grateful for rediscovering a life that I really, truly enjoy since leaving a career that ultimately was really bad for me.

Surprise!! 1989 (Taylor’s Version) is on its way to you 🔜! The 1989 album changed my life in countless ways, and it fills me with such excitement to announce that my version of it will be out October 27th. To be perfectly honest, this is my most FAVORITE re-record I’ve ever done because the 5 From The Vault tracks are so insane. I can’t believe they were ever left behind. But not for long! Pre order 1989 (Taylor’s Version) on my site 😎

It’s here. It’s yours, it’s mine, it’s ours. It’s an album I wrote alone about the whims, fantasies, heartaches, dramas and tragedies I lived out as a young woman between 18 and 20. I remember making tracklist after tracklist, obsessing over the right way to tell the story. I had to be ruthless with my choices, and I left behind some songs I am still unfailingly proud of now. Therefore, you have 6 From The Vault tracks! I recorded this album when I was 32 (and still growing up, now) and the memories it brought back filled me with nostalgia and appreciation. For life, for you, for the fact that I get to reclaim my work. Thank you a million times, for the memories that break our fall. 💥🏰 Speak Now (MY VERSION!) is out now.

I know we keep saying "this doesn't change Midnights" but actually over the last month it's been settling in for me that Midnights very much feels like an album written by someone processing the end of a relationship - revisiting old pain, revisiting deep love, reflecting on a lonely future... I don't know. I think this breakup was a very slow burn and you can hear that on Midnights.

I’m VERY excited to show you the back cover of Speak Now (my version) including the vault tracks and collaborations with Hayley Williams from Paramore and Fall Out Boy. Since Speak Now was all about my songwriting, I decided to go to the artists who I feel influenced me most powerfully as a lyricist at that time and ask them to sing on the album. They’re so cool and generous for agreeing to support my version of Speak Now. I recorded this album when I was 32 (and still growing up, now) and can’t wait to unveil it all to you on July 7th http://store.taylorswift.com
