a departure.

i haven’t been active for quite a bit on here. then again, i notice i’ve been active as little as i used to. don’t worry. i’m fine though. i was just busy with stuff. and when i had some free time in my hands, i would browse.

it’s been almost a decade since i made this tumblr blog. i remember when i started off as a fan account to connect with those who shared similar interests. that kept on going until four-six years later (i made a separate side blog entirely for fan content. mostly relating to youtube.), and i shifted my image to what it is/was to this day. i mean, there’s still some interests that i’ve shared, but i didn’t share it rampantly (or so i like to think). 

i’ve shared interests in video games, over the garden wall, studio ghibli, wes anderson, the legend of zelda, and who knows what else in 2018-19. i’ve spewed my personal life (and other things i probably shouldn’t have posted) around 2012-14. if anything, i was an open book. an open book of things i liked, an open book of past errors; an open photo book you find at a coffee table or a doctor’s office. 

now, to the real details as to why i just haven’t been active: well, not only did i forget my password, but i just don’t see the appeal of coming on here anymore. i don’t see the fun of browsing through the dashboard and seeing posts that regard politics or distressing topics. now don’t get me wrong, i am happy that people are spreading awareness of these things. they are serious and need to be discussed--that is, in a proper and civil manner. but if any of you have seen my blog, it’s not like that. to me, it was always meant to be this “escape from reality,” i guess. to keep away from politics. to keep away from distressing situations. to keep away from current events. to keep away from the world that is ever so dreary. as someone who abstains from discussing or engaging in politics or current events, going on here and seeing posts regarding these topics has just been tiresome for me. absolutely tiresome.

and, in this case, my time here may as well come to an end. it’s been over nine years and a month since the creation of this blog. i’ve been through handfuls of name changes. (notable examples include heidinicholetraumer, lastoftheamericangirls, hush-a-by-heidi, and this one.) i’ve reblogged many a silly meme back in 2011. i’ve had a fan blog myself for about three-four years until i removed that. (if any of you remember my dan and phil/game grumps/muse/stranger things fan blog, i’ll give you a veteran’s discount.) as for this blog, i’ll be keeping it up, as a means of preserving all that i’ve posted/reblogged. as a means of seeing how much i’ve matured, comparing myself from september of 2012 until now. as a means of progress. as a means of keeping all these semi-weird things i have in my archives.  well, it’s been real. take care of yourselves & stay golden.
