Well, since I mentioned I was writing this I may as well share it. The OT3 fic where Eliot is also married to Aimee and they have a kid.
Title: The Kentucky Job Rating: General Fandom: Leverage Summary: Parker and Hardison visit Eliot and his family in Kentucky. Warnings: None

Super ambitious fic idea for my first Leverage fanfic, but I've committed. I have a writing bingo card and one of the squares is "hierarchy" and for some reason my brain latched onto hierarchical polyamorous relationships.
Anyway, so the idea is that Eliot and Aimee never broke up, maybe he never worked for Moreau, I don't know, still figuring out the details, and they have a kid together (he's very cute, his name is Forrest). But! he's also dating Parker and Hardison.
The relationship hierarchy comes in with the fact that Eliot and Aimee live together, as do Parker and Hardison. Which in this circumstance makes those the primary relationships. And obviously not all polyamorous relationships separated by living situations are hierarchical, but I thought it would be really interesting to explore it like this.

The Two-Horse Job (S01E07)
You know I'm going to have a lot to say about this one and a certain scene in particular!
- Does the Aimee/Eliot timeline really add up? She says it was 8 years ago, which if he's mid-30s now puts him at late-20s then. Who's giving people promise rings / sticking around on the basis of a promise ring beyond the late teens/early 20s?
- The promise ring? Eliot wants to be married, your honor, I rest my case. (Also the gesture he does to explain "promise ring" is adorably useless.)
- "Come here, let me feel your head." "No, don't, don't feel her..." Such a family forming episode.
- Hardison's briefings for the visual learners and auditory learners... He's so underappreciated.
- Parker says Sterling is "like Nate, evil Nate" and that's such a good way of setting up the character and their relationship, but it's also a vast simplification. I don't think the difference between Sterling and Nate is primarily along a good/evil axis. They're both very grey (Sterling in a way that's more satisfying to me). Maybe the difference is more along a lawful/chaotic axis? But not quite that either.
- I find it fascinating that Eliot's response to Aimee being angry he kept leaving is that he always came back, whereas she moved on. He still thinks he did the right thing. Whereas from the outside that's not how it appears (to me anyway).
- Honestly the whole thing with Eliot grabbing Aimee and saying "you know you can't get out of this" is super uncomfortable, doubly so given who Kane apparently is as a person, and I don't understand why they did that. I hate that this is yet another depiction of this behavior being romantic/sexy.
- However, the kiss proper is obviously very hot. The actress sells the chemistry really well. I definitely buy it as 8 years of pent-up stuff. My designated thirst comment can't be anything other than this scene, can it, but given my little tradition, I need to pick out something weirdly specific, which is going to be the sound of Eliot being pushed into the wall. He could totally have resisted that push, he didn't need to fall into the wall that heavily, but he just totally surrenders to it (I think emotionally as much as physically).
- I also headcanon that they're both a lot different sexually than they were 8 years ago. People's relationship to their sexuality often changes a lot between their 20s and 30s (usually for the better, it seems) and the idea of returning in your 30s to someone you had chemistry with in your 20s is interesting to me, both being surprised by how you each have changed. One day I'll write that fic.
- As much as I like that we got an Eliot kissing scene, I also love that Leverage is not an explicitly sexy show (especially by the standards of the noughties). Like this is the sexiest scene in the entire series, and it's literally 10 seconds of fully clothed kissing.
- The reveal that Sterling is meeting up with the Chinese tourist. Sterling is such a satisfying adversary.
- Sophie defending Eliot to Nate is touching, and makes so much more sense if you consider this episode 7 rather than broadcast order ep 3. And then Parker dealing with her fear of horses for Eliot. And Aimee describing the crew as Eliot's family. This is such a family bonding episode.
- Aimee telling Eliot "you're never going to be the kind to settle down" and him not denying it is interesting for my theory that Eliot wants to get married and settle down in a "normal" life. I take it as her rationalizing to herself why she can't have him now and him not wanting to burst that bubble / thinking he's not worthy any more of ever getting to settle down. As someone myself who desperately wishes they could have a normal life but can't (for very different reasons!) I do ship them to an extent - the idea that he could turn his back on all his mistakes and go back to her, to when things were normal, is very seductive, if utterly unrealistic.

Always happy to recommend them just in general if anybody wants though.

Someone sent me this and I assume it is BTS from The Two Horse Job but for some reason it cracks me the f up…
Jamie Ray Newman just looks about 500% Done and I think because I’ve seen her playing a character who spends her most of her time being Just So Done in Eureka it just hit my funny bone right in parallel with how Aimee is just Done with Eliot for most of the episode XD

There’s an old show on with Willie Nelson songs pretty much the entire broadcast and so I’m having major Eliot/Aimee and Eliot feels. In a world where I knew how to vid, I’d be doing a vid series.
