Karapatan ng Pagkakapantay-pantay
This is a common problem all of us face everyday. This started long ago in the times when we were colonized by the Spaniards. Imagine, people being so happy that they were free of the roles and the statures. But, a couple hundred years, the statures begin again. There's now social classes and whatever. Like middle class, high class and that kind of talk. Well, does it really matter? Yes and no, in this case. Although statures are important for well, dignity and pride, sometimes this tends to go overboard. Think about some people who because they are scared to lose friends/followers who don't care a bit about them, they make rash decisions (ex. voting for someone just because it's "cool" or simply bullying someone because their friends and the common folk around them do it. Some people don't have the concept of "pagkakapantay-pantay". They think that they have to keep their stature and is so afraid to lose it. Sometimes, it seems that they are frozen in time since they want to keep something over and over again that they freeze themselves in the process.

Poems by Anonymous
Some say the world will end in fire,
Some say in ice.
From what I’ve tasted of desire
I hold with those who favor fire.
But if it had to perish twice,
I think I know enough of hate
To say that for destruction ice
Is also great
And would suffice.

Let's talk about history
The Japanese soldiers more specfic, the ones who were assigned to make the Filipinos suffer were very cruel. Some of the things that they did weren't even part of the orders from their leaders. The generals just mislead the soldiers in doing cruel stuff to the Filipinos. The soldiers just played blind to the injustice that they were doing. Whether they meant it or not, people were hurt because of them and many were killed. Some survivors can't even handle telling this story to their grandchildren. Some kids ask why there is a grave in front of their historical school. Some find out the truth but some don't ever come to the truth because they don't want to accept it. But they should. It is a part of their culture and background and they should not ever forget about the hardships of the Filipinos in the past. Some of them were raped at the young age of 8-9 years old. And one survivor said that her father was castrated because he refused to suffer more. There was one beautiful woman there that the Japanese described as very elegant and so she got raped 20-30 times a day. People who didn't accept these harsh and cruel rules were killed and their corpses was then put in a schoolyard and burned in flames. One known site where people were often raped and murdered is the Red House or the Bahay na Pula. That house held memories of the injustices and sacrifices that people had made and still it was demolished under 'confidential' reasons. But we should never foget about this era of hardship and pain. Some people just know Japan as that lively anime place with an amazing view and frankly, I agree but we shouldn't forget about this dark past just because we don't want to accept it.
