Image Description: At the top of the image, text reads: "Aromantic Belonging in the Queer Community". Just underneath is a wavy banner in aromantic flag colours (dark green, light green, white, grey, black). Below this is a dark green roughly-square shape reading "Looking for aromantic and aro-spec participants to take part in 60- to 90-minute online text-based interviews on your experiences of belonging as an aromantic person". To the bottom right of this is another, smaller banner in a loop-de-loop shape with colours of the aromantic flag. Further text at the bottom of the image reads "This research is being conducted as part of my Undergraduate Psychology Dissertation at the University of Glasgow. Please contact Alex Jacquemot-Krupp at [email protected] to register interest or find out more!". The image background is a colour gradient from white at the top to light green at the bottom.

It’s uncanny how similar Trump is acting like Hitler. People are now doing the Nazi salute. They’re drawing the symbol. The KKK was seen in Kentucky asking people to join them. ICE has been ripping families apart. Companies have pulled back Diversity Initiatives. We’re no longer part of WHO and there won’t be any communication from the CDC at least until February 1st. We’re being censored and the news can’t be trusted. Thousands of Americans didn’t know there were protests against Trump yesterday outside the U.S. Quotes from The Handmaid’s Tale and Anne Frank have been compared to what’s going on right now.
According to The Lemkin Institute for Genocide Studies and Prevention the U.S. has officially been given a red flag alert for Genocide.
I’m exhausted but I will never stop being angry.

Skip Google for Research
As Google has worked to overtake the internet, its search algorithm has not just gotten worse.  It has been designed to prioritize advertisers and popular pages often times excluding pages and content that better matches your search terms
As a writer in need of information for my stories, I find this unacceptable.  As a proponent of availability of information so the populace can actually educate itself, it is unforgivable.
Below is a concise list of useful research sites compiled by Edward Clark over on Facebook. I was familiar with some, but not all of these.
Google is so powerful that it “hides” other search systems from us. We just don’t know the existence of most of them. Meanwhile, there are still a huge number of excellent searchers in the world who specialize in books, science, other smart information. Keep a list of sites you never heard of.
www.refseek.com - Academic Resource Search. More than a billion sources: encyclopedia, monographies, magazines.
www.worldcat.org - a search for the contents of 20 thousand worldwide libraries. Find out where lies the nearest rare book you need.
https://link.springer.com - access to more than 10 million scientific documents: books, articles, research protocols.
www.bioline.org.br is a library of scientific bioscience journals published in developing countries.
http://repec.org - volunteers from 102 countries have collected almost 4 million publications on economics and related science.
www.science.gov is an American state search engine on 2200+ scientific sites. More than 200 million articles are indexed.
www.pdfdrive.com is the largest website for free download of books in PDF format. Claiming over 225 million names.
www.base-search.net is one of the most powerful researches on academic studies texts. More than 100 million scientific documents, 70% of them are free

Youtube recently updated to stop giving ads countdown timers for when you can skip them
Mark my words, they are doing this so they can slowly increase forced ad watch time from 5 seconds to any number of seconds/minutes until you can’t skip ads anymore

I usually fucking loathe anyone who references 1984 on social media but I do feel like actually Microsoft deciding to underline every use of an intensifier as an error is some Newspeak bullshit. no you can't replace "very nervous" with "nervous" to make a sentence "more concise" actually, because the word "very" has an actual fuckdamn meaning that I am deliberately conveying, you soulless corporate horseshit shovelling cartoon paperclip ass motherfucker

My uncles a firefighter, and he says that policy is to not rescue people from Teslas after a certain (very quick) point in a car fire because the fumes are too toxic and its too dangerous for the firefighters to go into a guaranteed death trap
Also, apparently if firefighters do arrive in time they will basically rip people out of the Teslas without regard to breaking their bones because they only have so much time before they can’t, whereas a regular car they are trained to pull people out slowly and in a way to reduce injuries.
He also says policy is to let Teslas burn out, not out them out with water, because any water they use on a burning Tesla is considered toxic waste by the EPA, and the owner of the tesla is in charge of paying for the environmental clean up. This is on top of the tens of thousands more gallons of water it takes to get rid of a Tesla fire than a regular fire, fire department policy is to literally pull Teslas out of garages so they can burn on the driveway and not set anything else on fire in the process
Tldr: firefighter uncle says Teslas are death traps

I think the reason I like characters like Damian Wayne and John Constantine is because I despise grimdark as a writing convention, and compensate by choosing to like and read characters who despite all odds and their circumstances ultimately choose to do the right thing instead
Hopepunk is liking a character raised as an assassin who was trained to be a living weapon, actively going against his upbringing to be a source of good and light in the world, even if they fail sometimes they try again to be better, fight me on this
