Hey, the ACLU is getting people to send letters to your Reps to have Congress pass the No Kings Act.
This act would make constitutional amendments to ensure that even sitting presidents are held liable for their actions. That NOBODY is above the law.
Their goal is 150k messages sent and at the time of writing this they're about 2.1k off from that goal!
ACLU gives you a prefilled message that you can edit to send to make the process easier, and will send it out for you.
This only takes a few minutes!

Project 2025 ain't gonna roll out all at once. So what we're gonna wanna do is make passing each individual part of it as difficult as possible, so there's less to undo once we finally get this country back on the rails.

Believing that Trump won’t enact Project 2025 because he said he won’t is like walking directly into a wall because someone told you there was a door there

Mostly I also find a lot of discussions about US action in WWII trite because much like class discourse, it treats "The United States" as one unified decision maker, like if political cartoons were real. Instead of ,as makes more sense, several hundred million people ruled by a government of hundreds of thousands headed by a few dozen specific people you can name and point to for things like "the bombing of Hiroshima" or "the specific Jim Crow policies that were used by the Nazis as justification for the Holocaust"
Moreover, instead of being used to understand the myriad ways in which racism and oppression are intersecting and self-reinforcing, it just switches the mythology from "The Nazis were an unique kind of evil" to "The Americans were a unique kind of evil, and the source of Racism". No! This shit was everywhere in the early 20th century, eugenics was a commonplace belief, especially among the scientific community. It was fucking horrible and you do a disservice to history if you ignore that to score points on owning the libs.

my kindest opinion is that you can't seriously be a leftist (or a progressive) and call anything near the current US administration "based." you should be really embarrassed to do that. i don't care if you vote, but be serious. this is the worst the united states war machine has been since bush, and the democrats are running on a gay-friendly version of bush's platform. they have dick cheney's endorsement for crying out loud. if you're voting for kamala you should be doing it with anger and shame that this is the best you can do. anything less than that is indicative of a moral rot you won't be rid of soon. you're already a republican in everything but name

when i forget to log into ao3 and i have to click proceed to see an adult fic, i actually get a kick out of it. like i am an old timey queen and my bard is apologetic: “gentle lady, dicks doth touch in this next ballad. would you prefer another?” and i give him a gesture of command like, “nay, you may proceed, minstrel. bring forth the tale of dicks”
