La Catedral del Mar will be released this wednesday, 23rd May at 22:40 on the TV channel Antena 3.

This series, based on the homonymous novel by Ildefonso Falcones, produced by Atresmedia and Televisió de Catalunya, it stars Aitor Luna, Michelle Jenner and Silvia Abascal, among others. Is composed of a single season of 8 episodes of less than an hour duration.

In the 14th century Barcelona is in one of the most prosperous moments of its history: the city has grown to the Ribera, a humble fishermen's quarter, in which the cathedral of Santa María del Mar is beginning to be built. When a servant arrives in Barcelona, Arnau Estanyol, fleeing together with his father from the abuses of the feudal lords. Arnau will work as a groom, stevedore and soldier and will become a free man. His social ascent will take him from misery to loose life as a moneychanger, which will awaken the envy of his enemies, who plot and plot their lives in the hands of the Inquisition. The plot has as its background religious control and segregation in the medieval society of Barcelona.

This gown was first seen on Tamzin Merchant as Katherine Howard in the 2010 fourth season of The Tudors.  Due to The Tudors heavy use of recycled costumes, it is likely that this piece actually dates to an earlier date. The costume was worn again by an uncredited actress as Anne Boleyn in 2016 in Carlos Rey Emperador.

John II (3 March 1455 – 25 October 1495), called the Perfect Prince (o Príncipe Perfeito), was the king of Portugal and the Algarves from 1477/1481 to 1495. 

Regarded as one of the greatest Portuguese rulers, chiefly because of his ruthless assertion of royal authority over the great nobles and his resumption of the exploration of Africa and the quest for India.

He suffered a long illness and died in 1495 at the castle of Alvor in the province of Algarve. John’s exercise of personal power, particularly against the nobles, explains the epithet the Perfect Prince, which owes its origin to Lope de Vega’s play about him.

Very good. We get along very well. The sequences come out lovely… There’s chemistry between us. We’re always laughing. Fernando is a very cheerful guy and Isabel is tremendously harsh. And this is part of what makes it funny.

This fur-lined cloak was first seen on Rodolfo Sancho as King Fernando II in both the 2014 television show Isabel, and again in the 2016 movie La Corona Partida (The Broken Crown). The piece was spotted again on Benedict Cumberbatch as King Richard III in 2016 in The Hollow Crown: Richard III.
