i'm the guy who writes the books that the protagonist in supernatural horror movies frantically reads somewhere in act ii. job's pretty easy. lot of "legends of vampires have recurred all throughout human history" and "demonologists agree that the quickest way to un-summon a demon is to trap it in a cursed object". no citations of course; they don't pay me citation money. i had to learn html back in the early aughts when everyone started seeking their supernatural info on websites they found via top search engines like FINDLER and WEBSIGHT but that's died down now which is great because i didn't have it in me to pick up css. currently working on a new book about horses that are evil. it's called HORSES THAT ARE EVIL in all caps so the protagonist can find it quickly to yank off the library shelf. it will be published 35 years ago.

Hello, I am making a post on behalf of Marah to help save her family, who are Palestinians trying to survive genocide in Gaza. Their tents have flooded and she fears they may not survive the coming winter. She fears for her nieces and nephews who awoke to the sound of bombing mere tents away from them.

Marah has said: "I am sitting now in my tent, surrounded by strong winds that make me feel as if the tent will fly away at any moment. The fabrics dance violently, the sound of the wind fills the place and it is not winter yet and we are in the tents!

We are approaching history. 4-11 [is] the anniversary of the martyrdom of my older brother Muhammad in northern Gaza in Beit Hanoun. The city of Beit Hanoun is now under siege as it was under siege on 4/11/2006. The anniversary of the martyrdom of my brother Muhammad at the hands of the Israeli occupation is approaching...and my family is still threatened by death from the same enemy.

We live a few meters away from Al-Aqsa Martyrs Hospital in Deir al-Balah, which was targeted and burned, and its occupants burned in front of the eyes of the world. All of us in Gaza are vulnerable to being targeted and killed at any moment. In fact, none of us are afraid of death because life now is more terrible and more terrifying.

The truth we fear is the path of death to which we may be exposed.

On this day last year, my family faced a choice no one should ever have to make: stay in their home in Gaza and risk death or flee south, clinging to the slim hope of finding safety. Spoiler alert: there was no “right” answer. In Gaza, there never is. Families like mine would run from areas labeled dangerous, only to be bombed in so-called ‘humanitarian’ zones. Because in Gaza, no place is truly safe.

Each time they evacuated, they had the same gut-wrenching, desperate conversations on repeat: “Should we stay or go? Where would we even go? Do we send the women and children first, or do we all stick together?” Imagine trying to make life-and-death decisions with bombs falling around you.

One evening, a family friend offered them shelter, hoping the madness would calm down in a few days. My brothers agreed to move everyone there the next morning. But the bombs beat them to it. Just hours after that phone call, Israeli airstrikes hit our friend’s house. Thirty-five people, including children, gone. They never got a chance to move, and instead, they grieved for the lives lost.

They ran to Khan Younis, only for tragedy to follow. In November 2023, Israeli bombs hit my cousin’s house. I lost three cousins, their wives, and their children. It was chaos. Pieces of people scattered everywhere. A small child’s body lay unrecognizable until my cousin realized it was her son, Odi. His head was almost gone, but she knew him. She knew him by the shape of his teeth, his little toes. That’s the kind of loss no mother should ever face.

Since then, my family has moved over 50 times, haunted by the same questions: Where can they go next? How can they afford to survive another evacuation? Will they even manage to set up another flimsy tent?

And speaking of tents, imagine trying to live in one with your children. Picture makeshift cesspits serving as toilets, which fill up in a few weeks, forcing them to dig another. Comfort? Safety? Those words mean nothing. How do you sleep at night when your ‘home’ is a tent and your bathroom is a hole in the ground?

Talking about my family and Gaza breaks me, yet it also brings me a strange comfort. I refuse to let their stories fade. Their memories are beacons in the darkness, bittersweet reminders of joy and sorrow.

Your activism should not stop at a flag in your bio. There is still a boycott list, there are protests in all parts of the world, there are literally hundreds of fundraisers you can donate to. Simply posting "free palestine" once is not enough

Hello, November is unfortunately looking to be a very difficult month for me financially. I have an appointment with an out of network doctor to get a prescription to help me better function day to day because I've been struggling a lot after having Covid in August. This is $185, my general insurance renewal for next year is $245, all of my meds are around $200, and with groceries and other expenses I anticipate needing around $950 in financial assistance this month. Especially on (US) election Day remember the Palestinian cause. Both candidates participate in a genocide against Palestinians, either win is a loss. You can't celebrate or mourn the results without remembering over 43,000 innocents have been killed thus far as a result of the genocide. A vote for either candidate is a vote for the deaths of Palestinians. Neither one is a moral choice, there is no lesser of two evils. There are two fascists on the ballot and either way we are inherently complicit in this genocide as USAmericans.
