Loki's Perspective: The Bifrost
Loki:Â Leave this to me.
Now the question that may throw a wrench in our adventurersâ plans. How to get past Heimdall? Going to Jotunheim is forbidden, and Heimdall wonât let them pass. Loki figures heâll do as he does best, and talk their way through. He steps up, ready to negotiate, but before he gets even a full sentence in, Thor cuts him off. He doesnât even let Loki try. Thor doesnât realize that Loki could have done it. Doesnât even give him a chance.
You can see the small hurt look when Thor yells âEnough!â Itâs hard for Loki that his brother doesnât see that heâs capable enough to get them through, to even allow him an attempt. Thor just pushes through and does things his own way, when Lokiâs might have been better.Â
Then we get this little quip.
Volstagg:Â What happened? Silver tongue turned to lead?
I get the feeling that this isnât the first time something like this has happened. Sif and The Warriors Three are not Lokiâs friends. Theyâre Thorâs. To them, Loki was always their friendâs little brother who just tagged along. Easy to make fun of. Crack a joke against Loki and everyone laughs. Even Thor. Though when Thor makes fun of Loki, you get the feeling heâs just teasing and you even see Loki laughing along. (See the first deleted scene for an example of this). Here, Volstagg isnât just joking around, laughing with Loki. No, Loki doesnât find it funny at all. It was a hurtful comment, as if Loki somehow failed when he was never given a chance. Volstagg is just being a bully. And everyone else laughs.Â
