Omgosh the talented @vorchagirl wrote me a fairytale inspired by my ballroom pieces and I love it 😭❤️‍🔥 thank you for this wonderful gift! I am truly awestruck! The kiss and the moment! I have no words, I am melting. Lena's also writing a mafia/gangster rookanis AU series that I am absolutely feral over, I think it's the bees knees and everyone should go check it out.

Dragon Age Kiss Week - Day 7 (Celebration)

Today I bring you a little Rookanis kiss inspired by @hijennyt A Crow's Ball series, using her Rook Evie and some of her art with permission.

Effervescent.

That was the only word Evie could think of to describe the emotion coursing through her veins. She felt golden. Glittery. Bubbly. Her body tingled with pure happiness, and joy had left her cheeks flushed and her eyes sparkling.

The sensation was akin to the first time she had used magic. A wonderful fluttery feeling like butterflies in her tummy, and which spread into a fizzy kind of tingle over her skin. She wouldn't have been surprised to find she was walking on air, she felt so wonderful.

Lucanis had danced with her.

Evie bit her lip, trying to stop her smile from bursting into a happy grin as she twirled out onto the balcony and the sound of the Crow's Ball faded to background noise. The night air felt fresh and cool against her skin, and she gazed up at the twinkling stars, lost in the memory of their dance - the scent of his aftershave, the confidant glow in his eyes, and the strength in his hands as he held her close and swept her around the dance floor. Lucanis danced like he fought - gracefully, skilfully and with infinite charm.

He looked so handsome too - like a picture book prince in his velvet and brocade formal Crow attire. She almost swooned to picture him. The mask he wore gave him an air of mystery, but Evie would have known her handsome Crow anywhere. As long as she lived she wouldn't forget the tiny secret smile he had aimed at her as their eyes met across the room.

“Rook?”

She turned as Lucanis appeared behind her, silent as ever as he moved out onto the balcony. He had removed his mask and held two glasses of champagne in his hands; the refreshments he had promised after their turn about the ballroom. His eyes held the same sparkle as her own; the same electricity and bubbly happiness.

He passed her a glass, his fingertips brushing lightly against hers, as he joined her. Neither of them spoke for a moment, they simply stood on the balcony under a canopy of flowing wisteria. Tiny lights had been magically placed amongst the lilac flowers, and they twinkled like fireflies as they sipped their champagne.

“Rook,” Lucanis’ voice was soft as he turned to face her. “Evie,” she shivered at the sound of her name on his lips. “I should have done this a long time ago.”

Evie cocked her head as she looked up at him, her silvery hair ticking her cheeks as a few errant stands were teased free by the breeze. “Dancing?”

He didn't smile at her joke.

Instead Lucanis shook his head and set his glass down on the railing and closed the distance between them.

“No,” he murmured huskily. “This…”

He kissed her.

It was better than dancing. Better than magic. Better than chocolate, or diamonds, or even a sunset. Lucanis pressed his mouth to hers gently, his lips warm and soft as they teased hers apart and Evie felt the hot flick of his tongue against her lower lip. She whimpered and forgot everything as she kissed him back eagerly, fumbling to put her glass down so she could wrap her arms around his neck and pull Lucanis close.

It was heaven. Bliss. Rain after a drought. The Venatori could have attacked them then and there and she wouldn't have heard a thing. All she could think of, all she could feel, was Lucanis.

The sound of shattering glass pulled them from their tryst, and Evie jumped back with a gasp as she realised that Lucanis had accidentally knocked the champagne glasses from the railing. She stared at the broken glass for a moment, and then up at Lucanis who was flushed and decidedly ruffled looking. Then she burst into laughter, and after a moment, he joined her, chuckling ruefully as he tugged a hand through his hair.

“Not as suave as I'd hoped,” he muttered, and grinned sheepishly at her. “Sorry for ruining the moment.”

“Don't be!” Evie grinned and fastened her hand onto the lapels of his jacket, pulling him towards her. “It just means we have to try again. Practice makes perfect, afterall.”

Lucanis snaked an arm around her waist, pulling her to him as he dropped his mouth to her ear. “This is one skill I would be very happy to perfect. Perhaps we should take this somewhere more private?”

She nodded, holding him tightly as the music in the ballroom swelled. “I think that sounds like a perfect way to continue our evening.”

I've always wanted to try my hand in this cut storyboard scene, but could never find the time...but if I couldn't do it for DA kiss week then when can ya? I wanted the rain, I wanted the wet hair and the kind of desperate embrace.

WIP Dragon age Veilguard fan animatic - "A Crows Ball"

Would I utilize my talented animation connections so I could see my OC dance?

I thought 2025 would be a great year to make my brainrot everyone else’s problem so here are some wip roughs. I'm also looking for more animators/char layout/compositors who can do anime/anime adjacent styles. Studio experience preferred. The vibe is very much Cinderella x Sailormoon. It's probably not going to be too much animation, and I'm planning on mixing it with some 2d still illustrations.

Lucanis and rook watching a sunset in Treviso. I wanted to capture something softer, reflecting the quieter romance while still acknowledging the bit of mutual pining present in a Rookanis relationship.

Both Lean on Me and Lead by Example were cards I worked on around the same time, and they became companion pieces to me. If Lean on Me celebrated vulnerability among teammates during low moments, then surely Lead by Example honored the victories during the highs.

ALSO its just a really cool brief, I mean seriously. Come on.

I love the mechanics of this card, it’s very me.

There’s also a smaller little hidden narrative in this piece, between the 3 tombstones, the 3 bloodied ribbons tied on the tree and a half broken staff.

As a long time critter, this card was an absolute delight to illustrate! The narrative here is that Kiddo is trying to hide by transforming into a statue after scribbling all over this fine establishment.

I don't think anyones figured out all the Easter Eggs yet, I'll pop a few under the jump!

1) Kiddos statue is slightly smaller than the others because the transform limit is that the object can not be larger than twice your normal size.

2) Kiddos shield has his rough memory of what the emblems look like

3) while the card is a gentle nod to its name sake, it’s also celebrating a second person.

I was given Kris kristofferson as inspiration for this one and also included some other cool actor inspos like Hugh jackman, Clint Eastwood and Nikolaj Coster-Waldau, had a blast painting all the effects...and well everything really!

This was such an amazing project with the most wonderful people!! Will be uploading all my daggerheart pieces albeit very slowly.
