Love how tumblr has its own folk stories. Yeah the God of Arepo we’ve all heard the story and we all still cry about it. Yeah that one about the woman locked up for centuries finally getting free. That one about the witch who would marry anyone who could get her house key from her cat and it’s revealed she IS the cat after the narrator befriends the cat.

It's like you think of a conversation with your characters that has a dramatic reveal with great descriptions that perfectly matches your characters, and to top it all off it's hilarious.

But then you look at your current plot, and go: wait. I can't fit it into my plot right now.

Then at 2:00 AM you come up with a way to put it in your story, because goddammit, it's just too good.

In the morning, you open up your doc, only to see a horrific mess of a plot lying among the ashes of a Good Story TM all for the sake of a cool idea.

There's a saying for this situation: "Kill your darlings".
