Actually cannot stop listening to these.
@taylorswift I think it’s safe to say we’re all SO THANKFUL that your re-recording brought us these bops 😭
Sl*t! is the most dreamy and romantic reclamation of the slur. It really paints that picture of being a woman in her early 20s who’s completely infatuated and in that love-struck haze. And the vocals are SO GOOD. They’re so smooth and there’s this perfect mix of rich lower registry and whistle notes that give this feeling of infatuation. UGH love it.
Say Don’t Go gives the anxious feeling on the flip side of a tumultuous relationship just constantly trying to bend yourself into a knot and laying everything on the table trying to get them to stay. I LOVE the tightrope line and allusion it gives to being in a circus. It almost sounds like a heartbeat in the background, but the beat comes across as being just behind the melody like it’s putting pressure on you. It gives me that “quick do something” feeling.
Now That We Don’t Talk is SUCH a bop. It’s one of those sad songs dressed up with a pop beat and fun, happy vibe. It reminds me of the ruminating thoughts you get when you hear about your ex and you just want to reach out to them, and trying to remind yourself why you don’t talk anymore in order to break the vicious cycle. Love the “I called my mom she said” part because that’s SO REAL being 20-something and having a tumultuous relationship that is not healthy and having your mom (if you’re lucky enough to have that kind of relationship) remind you that “it’s for the best”.
Suburban Legends feels like a throwback to Debut era Taylor, and I don’t know why but makes me think of Drew or another high school crush. It almost gives the same vibe as ‘Tis the Damn Season and having someone in your hometown in the suburbs that you still think about. You might even go back and have a fling and you start fantasizing about forever and how cute it would be to end up together. The track creates that feeling of optimism before transitioning at the bridge to the downfall of the short lived fantasy as a stark reminder of what you always knew.
Is It Over Now? might be my favourite. It could totally be a radio hit song with that fun pop vibe. It’s suuuuper catchy! But what makes it even greater is that it’s so RAW and vulnerable. It hits hard and feels like a whole host of feelings you get at the end of a tumultuous relationship - anger, desperation and holding out hope, sadness. My favourite part has to be the BRIDGE. I love a Taylor bridge and this one did not disappoint. The lyrics are a masterpiece, the track fades in and out perfectly, and the vocals and intonations are chefs kiss.
FAVOURITE re-release and vault tracks yet! 🫶🏻🫶🏻

Yesssss!!!!
Watching Kendrick Lamar create and record his verses on the Bad Blood remix was one of the most inspiring experiences of my life. I still look back on this collaboration with so much pride and gratitude, for the ways Kendrick elevated the song and the way he treats everyone around him. Every time the crowds on The Eras Tour would chant his line ‘you forgive, you forget, but you never let it… go!’, I smiled. The reality that Kendrick would go back in and re-record Bad Blood so that I could reclaim and own this work I’m so proud of is surreal and bewildering to me. I’m overjoyed to say that the Bad Blood Remix (featuring Kendrick Lamar) is available everywhere on the 1989 Deluxe Edition. 🫶🩵 http://taylor.lnk.to/1989TaylorsVersion

I feel like if Taylor goes quiet on us for over a week we will simply go into withdrawal at this point 😭 she just doesn’t stop and I am so here for it
What a truly mind blowing thing you’ve turned The Eras Tour Concert Film into. I’ve been watching videos of you guys in the theaters dancing and prancing and recreating choreography, creating inside jokes, casting spells, getting engaged, and just generally creating the exact type of joyful chaos we’re known for 😇 One of my favorite things you’ve done was when you supported Cruel Summer SO much, I ended up starting The Eras Tour show with it. For old times sake, I’m releasing the live audio from the tour so we can all shriek it in the comfort of our homes and cars PLUS a brand new remix by LP Giobbi 😜 Thank you, so much, forever, wow, just thank you!!! https://taylor.lnk.to/thecruelestsummer
