Growing Up
As I write these words, I’m ever evolving into the woman I’m supposed to be. Taking one step at a time and really enjoying the journey. Where it takes me I don’t know but for sure it’s going to be worth it. Enjoy the process good and bad that is what makes the goal worth while.

So it's been a couple days.
I haven't wanted to be on display for millions to see. I chose to be me and me is all I need. I use to think fitting in was the thing. In reality there is so much more to life than looking through the lens of someone else's life. It was at that moment I knew it was all going to change. Prepare for the ride because it's going to be a long one but definitely worth it in the end.

It's the character for me, how you treat others around you and how you think and view the world. Looks are important but there is more to a person then how beautiful someone is on the outside, their actions and how they treat you adds or subtracts how beautiful they are internally. I know most are like a Capital One commercial "What's in your wallet". However, don't let the masses fool you I like men who are caring, loving and supportive. I could go on and on, I just feel like the beauty of marriage has been reduced to "what can you do for me?" and not actually enjoying who you are with. It seems like some try to keep up with the Jones's and others try to pretend their in a healthy marriage when it's the exact opposite. What happened to growing old with someone, being their through think in thin, loving them for who they are and just enjoying good company.
It takes two willing individuals who are ready to give it their all and not give up when it gets hard. When you know what you’re looking for you're not going to quit until you find it even on your worst days you're not going to give up because Allah is with you. Spoken from a woman who has not been in love before but I see what my mom and dad have and its beautiful. Seeing how they treat each other, to what they do for one another and how they love each other it's so amazing. So I could hear all the horror stories in the world I still want to have that little piece of happiness with someone else.

Long time no see!
I’ve decided to take a break from social media and we’ll see how long it last. Insha’Allah it will last for however long I want it too lol. I may come on here and write about my thoughts but again we will see. Looking forward to see what I make of this page.

Made In America
Trapped in this facade, is this me or someone else.
In the past trying to be like others, I'm becoming who I'm meant to be.
No charade the real me, you see for years being a minority and not fitting in can be disheartening.
I found myself not being accepted because my experience is different from most.
Isn't that the whole point? Aren't we supposed to accept everyone and their differences?
As time progressed I realized this is not the case. Majority of the time people gravitate to what is familiar.
And for me I don't fit in the box.
It gave me the wrong perception of others.
I came out thinking as long as I don't fit in the box I'm always going to stand out.
I didn't grow up in the inner city, I grew up in the suburbs of the desert.
My parents said what makes you a good person is to be respectful towards all walks of life and to not treat others differently because they are not the same as you.
And like Allah says the best of you are the ones who have Taqwa. You are not better than anyone because of race, color, creed, gender, economic, financial and social status.
This is true but everyone has a different life and different mindset.
However that still doesn't give you the right to treat someone like they are less than.

Intentions I keep them at a distance because I don't know their intentions. Claiming they want to get to know me but what they really want to know is my waist size. Tell me is that love or lust? Cause clearly we are on a different page. I want to know what makes you "You" and you're over here trying to fulfill your desires and keep it moving. I'm waiting for love and love isn't determined by the size of my hips. Love is determined by someone who cares for you deeply and looks out for your wellbeing. Don't get me wrong you and I are physical creatures but if you are trying to build something real with someone than the first thing that comes out of your mouth shouldn't be "Are you thick?"
