“Hm? What the fuck what? Is there something on my face?”
Statera always loved that line. He had no face. It was impossible to have something on something that didn’t exist. But it was so funny to him.
“What…the actual fuck…?”
Burnie stares with furrowed eyebrows, not quite sure what he actually saw. Was this some wizard playing him, maybe a warlock wanting to make him seem dumb? He had no idea.

“I assure you Eri. I will do my best to assist you as much as I can when my objectives are met. But without them met I am a bit spread thin myself.” Statera said as his form shifted a bit before the other god. “But it was nice to see you. I do apologize for the trouble I have caused you. But not the trouble I’ve caused in general. Perhaps next time I see you I’ll stay around to speak more.” The god said as his form fell into the mask that he had taken off before. He really was not in the mood to continue this conversation at the moment. e had been looking for entertainment not chastisement.
Gray eyes only narrow further at the mention of insults- always Tottonate and Statera throwing themselves at each other, throwing themselves apart, causing trouble– Leaving the other Gods to suffer for it. Eri is certainly a ‘casualty’ as Statera so nonchalantly says. The word should have far more meaning than he gives it.
Erivorte already feels slighted by the meeting; Statera’s apparent unmasking does nothing for them. The gaunt knight’s face stares when the suggestion to come to honest vision is rendered and Eri does not respond at first, not sure they care to give their fellow God such a sight. Eventually they conceed. The Knight cracks and crumbles to clay dust and crystal shards, leaving behind the God of Life and Death. Eri looks a sight- There is no flesh left to them, only pale bone that is rough and cracked. They are as they said they were, edged, sharpened to a point and focused on only Death. They still hold the Knight’s sword in their fingers, absently twisting it.
“It doesn’t matter to you what your actions have cost me.” Erivorte accuses, sounding far less enthused about this meeting now than they ever were.

“I dare as much as Tottonate dared to insult me. Your situation is regrettable but it was a necessary casualty.” Statera said evenly. He had not anticipated the other god to show up. But he had enough plans and escape for him was a rather simple task. Statera raised his hand and grasped the mask he was wearing at the moment. before taking it off and setting it down on the ground. “Do we really need to speak in disguise? Perhaps your point will be more clear to me if I can see what my actions have cost you?”
The knight’s lovely face goes gaunt in an instant.
“I dare? YOU dare to suggest that my trouble with you is over Tottonate? That I’m here to fight his battles?” Erivorte seethes, fingertips itching. If only Statera was Mortal, if only he had skin quick to lesion or– No, There needs to be focus here. Erivorte reigns themselves in a quickly as they can. “What you have created has brought me to an edge, Statera- I am listless. I can hear nothing but their screaming-” He’s working himself to the bone, as it were. “You had no right to turn them to an early grave- you had no right to settle your balance on their bones.”

“A slight is a slight. One does not scorn me without equal reciprocation. You dare say that I, the balance, am unbalanced? Perhaps I am. Perhaps I have been so lenient with my balance and allowing the chaos created by your beloved. Perhaps that is why you are upset? Simply because Tottonate is unnerved after my rebuttal? Do I care that either of you are upset? No. I do not.”
The disguise didn’t need to be perfect, even if it had been carefully crafted. Erivorte is a craftsman in a different light, focused on creating whole persons and not shams. They didn’t intend for this disguise to last- they only needed it to get them close.
”You pick and choose your balancing acts.” Erivorte says, upset. It’s taken too long to have this discussion- even Tottonate had come to Their side on his own, but Eri had hunted Statera down. “It didn’t have to be so personal; it certainly didn’t have to be so large scale.” Eri’s bones ache. What you set into motion isn’t something easily ended, and it doesn’t just balance everything. But you knew that; you just don’t care.”

“Injustice? My tests are unjust?” This one was rather..different from the other people he had tested today. This one was so obviously not normal. Granted that wasn’t surprising. The disguise wasn’t much in compared to his own masks. Trying to hide from the god who of rogues and assassins who assists them in hiding wasn’t going to be easy, even for a god. “You know as well as I that I simply balance the world. If I do anything it is reactionary and in order to balance what has been done.”
The Knight standing before the Rogue is tall and trim, not too lean and not pudgy with age. His eyes are gray and his hair is dark- but his gaze is focused on the other man before him, his hand on his sword. Erivorte, beneath the clay and crystal of the disguise, figures Statera’s amusement is the only reason to have not been called out yet. It won’t last long.
”I fight injustice- your tests are unwarranted.” That voice isn’t pleased.

“Many rogues are rather spiritual and find blessings given to them. But perhaps you see rogues in a negative light? Perhaps this will be more fitting?” Statera said as he grasped his ‘face’ and removed it momentarily before waving his other hand before his face changing his appearance to that of young shaman woman.
“Recognizing the imbalance in the world is good. Many can’t see it is unfair at times. But do you feel it has been unfair to the point of it having been unbalanced in your eyes?”
“A rogue…asking about my spiritual stability…”
A bubble of laughter pulls from his lips then as he crosses his arms over his chest. That one–? That was actually funny. He was kind of sad Gus wasn’t here to hear that. They would have had a field trip.
“Pal my ‘mental balance’ hasn’t been right since day one. Has life been too unfair? It’s always fucking unfair. That’s just how it is!”

“I make no mistakes. I weigh my options carefully.” The god said with a smirk as he placed his hands upon his hips and grinned at the berserker before him. It was always so amusing when the ones who choose to walk the path of the others would be annoyed by him. But this one well..he was useful for his rose child so why not play a bit with him? Perhaps even give him a reward for his work?
If the berserk had better knowledge on who this person was, maybe he wouldn’t have reacted to the action as he was about to but…how was he to know when a god wished to be hidden? With a slight snarl pulling at his lips the redhead stands a little straighter, eyes narrowing.
“I think you made a mistake, pal.” He grinds out slightly, a hand now resting on the hilt of his blade.

Statera grinned as best he could with his mask. The bard seemed rather annoyed with him having come to test his balance. Perhaps he had a bit of a bad day?
“Your physical balance perhaps. But what of your spiritual? Your mental? How has your life been from your perspective? Has life been too unfair in your opinion? And I assure you child you do not have anything more important that one such as me.”
Raising an eyebrow as he looked at the person before him, Burnie lets out a long, heavy sigh. Seriously, he wasn’t looking for this sort of shit today but y’know? Here it was! With a roll of his eyes he claps slowly for a moment.
“Yes and my balance is crappy because I’ve has a drink or two. Good job, now let me be on my way because I have more important things to do then talk with the likes of you.”

“Do you think you are strong enough to fight me? Are you sure you want to do this? I simply pushed you to test your balance.” The god said, he was currently wearing his mask to resemble one of his rogues deciding to mingle with the mortals and had chosen to test the balance of said mortals.

The world in general. Obviously.
I had every right. And know that all I have done and will do will be for balance. Not that you’d know about my work.
#Without me who would keep you in check?#Erivorte would be over worked due to the deaths you'd cause

An imbalance was corrected. It was corrected in favor of other lives if that pleases you Tottonate.

Corrected an imbalance. It is what I do.
Balance needed to be restored immediately. His actions would have lead to many more unwarranted deaths before their planned time. Though the turmoil in that area will soon balance out the number of years it has been in peace.

This one’s life was taken for the greater balance of the world. His death may not have come when you had intended, but it was needed.

Statera would grin if he had a mouth to do so at the moment. He was pleased the mortal would do his bidding. “Good. The rose will turn white when you near your target. Just as you have faith in me, I have faith in your ability to complete this for me. And know this my child. I am watching over you, even when you feel I am not.” Statera was finished with the conversation. Nodding his head the god sank into the earth slowly. “Until next we speak.”

“You mortals are always so amusing when I play that prank on you. It has yet to ever get tiring.” The god said as he reached out to the man. His reaction was expected, and with someone of his devotion it was not unexpected for him to react this way. “You need not avert your eyes. I am here to reward you.” Statera chuckled before raising a hand to his face. Dragging the hand down it the formerly blank expanse. Now he appeared as a mirror image of the mortal. It was simply a mask but the image was identical. Grasping the mask Statera removed it and held it out to the mortal before him.
“Take my blessing. This mask will allow you to blend in with shadows, and crowds as though those who may seek you have been placed under an illusion. You will be in plain sight but invisible to those who you do not wish to be seen by. After putting it on for the first time it will change to appear as a white mask when you take it off. However those blessed by a god may be able to see you so do be careful.” Statera said as he looked at his handy work then back to the mortal. “As for the warning. I have tipped the scales to bring balance to the world. This area will soon have much death and strife. It has been at peace for much longer then other places in this world. As such an army will be here soon to destroy this place. Whether you choose to flee or not is up to you. But I do have a request. It would be heavy handed of me not to send a message to Tottonate about this upcoming war.” Snapping his fingers Statera focused some of his energy into the rose he had given Ray. “I would like you to kill a man in this town e was blessed by Tottonate, who has insulted me greatly. I ask that you send him to Erivorte’s embrace, my child.”
