Enter an Arena of Gore with Nightingales: Blood Pit at Halloween Horror Nights
Imagine yourself transported back to Ancient Rome where a ruthless emperor reigns and gladiatorial games are put on for bloody entertainment. Add in bloodthirsty creatures and you’ll find yourself in the middle of Nightingales: Blood Pit – an all-new haunted house at this year’s Halloween Horror Nights.
Here’s what you need to know about the next chapter in this fan-favorite original storyline of the nightingales.
Story
Ancient Rome is suffering its worst drought in centuries. The ruthless emperor has declared the gladiatorial games to continue nonstop until the rains return. The gruesome bloodshed of the games is horrifying enough, but then come the creatures.
The Nightingales
As the blood soaks into the earth, the nightingales feed on the dead and dying. The nightingales are a grisly race of creatures that have been here since the dawn of time. You may think you’re familiar with their past feeding frenzies, but you haven’t seen them like this. You’ll try to survive alongside the gladiators as the ravenous nightingales tear into their victims and notice that fresh blood has come into their midst…
Event Details
Come face-to-face with the nightingales this fall when Halloween Horror Nights returns on select nights from Sept. 6 – Nov. 2. This year, you’ll experience 10 haunted houses, 5 scare zones, live entertainment and more. Right now, take advantage of a limited time ticket offer and this vacation package while you can. Click here for more event details.
WARNING: Event may be too intense for young children and is not recommended for children under the age of 13. No costumes or masks allowed.

Okay, mouthbreathers, get ready! Netflix’s Stranger Things is returning to Universal Orlando Resort’s Halloween Horror Nights.
youtube
This year, you’ll experience an all-new haunted house where you will travel back to the small town of Hawkins, Indiana and walk-through some of the most terrifying scenes from Stranger Things 2 and 3.
Not only will you come face-to-face with snarling Demodogs, but you will also make your way through iconic scenes and locations, from Chief Hopper’s cabin to the Starcourt Mall.
And the best part? This new version of the Stranger Things haunted house is also coming to our sister park, Universal Studios Hollywood. The haunted houses on both coasts will parallel the hit show as it leaps forward to 1985. And to prepare for the scares, don’t forget to watch Netflix’s Stranger Things 3 on July 4, 2019.
Get ready because this is just the beginning, with ten haunted houses, five scare zones, and live entertainment still to be revealed for The World’s Premier Halloween Event.
Get details on the limited time ticket offer and exclusive vacation packages for Universal Orlando’s Halloween Horror Nights at Universal Studios Florida from September 6 through November 2.

HHN 8: Fleeing From the Frightanic
“S.S. Frightanic,” Universal Studios Florida, 1998.
Smiling guests make a break from one of the haunted chambers within the “S. S. Frightanic,” one of the few ‘double-run’ houses in HHN history. “Frightanic” was actually two separate houses: “S. S. Frightanic: Fear in First Class” and “S. S. Frightanic: Carnage Crew.”

Serious Art of Make-Believe: "Chance" Concept Art
“The Serious Art of Make-Believe” Exhibit, Orange County Regional History Center, 2012.
One of the more interesting pieces of concept artwork on display during the exhibition was this painting of a female clown. The character would eventually become Jack’s ‘main squeeze’ (and crowd favorite), Chance.

LT 2014: "Supernatural" Poster
The final night of Halloween Horror Nights 24, November 1st, 2014, saw this poster’s appearance in Sting Alley. It’s a theatrical movie poster for “Supernatural,” a 1933 Paramount film starring Carole Lombard. In the course of the movie, Lombard’s character interacts with a fake spiritualist before being possessed by the spirit of a murderess.
The 2014 poster, aside from extensive weathering and aging, seems consistent with the 1933 original. The most obvious addition is that of the text fragments interspersed among Lombard’s fingers. These fragments are easily deciphered by simply reversing the letters, as seen below:
Line Cipher Decoded Location 1 TOILLE ELLIOT “E.T.” attraction, KidZone 2 LEBAM MABEL “Blues Brothers” show stage
Delancey Street, New York
3 SIZNOD DONZIS Donzis Boats near Lombard’s Landing
San Francisco
4 ATIKAW WAKITA “Twister” attraction
New York
5 KAERBS’RENRUTANAL LANA TURNER’S BREAK Schwab’s Pharmacy
Hollywood Blvd.
6 KNIL&FFUC CUFF & LINK Adrian’s Pet Shop
Delancey Street, New York
Visiting the above locations in the proper order, while utilizing the “T.E.S.T.” app, would unlock a special achievement for the user.

The first, and one of the largest, piece of artwork on display at the “Serious Art of Make-Believe” exhibit was the fearsome, animalistic “Bonechopper,” the motorcycle driven by the Terra Queen as she made her entrances and exits at HHN 15.
