After the events of ch.139, it is important to recontextualize the last look Eren had in the present time, which also happened to be the last look he gave to Mikasa.

Initial assesments varied, from "dead inside" look to "I expected this" look but after chapter 139, honestly, it was the look of someone who finally understood the sacrifices he has made, who was assured of the fruition of everything he has done. Him finally seeing the defining moment that will change everything, and seeing Mikasa complete the missing piece in the whole puzzle were the reasons why Eren's very last look gave a hint of peace and solemnity. It almost says "Aahh, it was all for this moment. I'm sorry it had to be this way but I'm glad it's you."
