28.05: planning a three month long break; using a mug that's been lying on my shelf unused since forever; making some progress on my reading; creating my portfolio

i have about three months before my masters begins, and i want to use it extensively to learn subjects that i don't get to study academically or professionally. i'm also planning to learn sanskrit. i don't have a lot of confidence for it, but i'm gonna try anyway.

self study requires so much discipline. being a designer, my graduation in the design field didn't require me to "study" as much. in fact, i've not had a written exam in like 6 years. i did have a lot of presentations, case studies and juries though, which seems worse to me. but i think that's a classic case of the grass being greener on the other side.

my neurodivergent brain created a massive list of hobbies to pursue, subjects to learn and books to read. i'm really excited for the next three months though, it's all about how i plan and prioritise the things i want to do. (i won't, it's gonna be a chaotic hot mess but let's humour my enthusiasm).

met a friend for coffee and got some epidemiology textbook reading done :)

Explored and studied a lot this weekend. Pumpkin pastries from Trader Joe’s aren’t great, but black coffee always is.

September 28:

got another book I don’t have time to read. Went to laundromat after work and read for class while waiting for the machine. I got to chatting with a woman over the absurd size of my book and made a new neighborhood friend. Plus, I have clean clothes (and picked up my meds)!

@obstinateanxiety cant reply because this is my sideblog but it’s never too late! honestly my MLIS isn’t that much of a workload. I do see that you’re doing your PhD so maybe a different path though, which is awesome tol

I'm new to studyblr (but not new to tumblr, this is a sideblog) and decided to introduce myself to the community. I'm a grad student getting my MA in literature (modernist) and my MLIS in archives as part of a special program that offers both.

this week’s readings to discuss. we usually read a book a week for every class I have, but considering Clarissa’s length, we’ll be splitting it up over 4 weeks. Really looking forward to discussing the Irish poetry!

It’s a rainy week here, and I’m having a somewhat quiet morning before I head off to my library job. Going to be a crazy but exciting week. Hope everyone has a good one <3
