Honestly aizawa is the funniest character in bnha for the sole reason that he keeps having completely ridiculous things happen to him that have to be played completely straight because he's so serious

His fucking mentor was a flamboyant prince impersonator and no one could say a damn thing about it because this is AIZAWA we're talking about. We got so many depressing shots of this man in the hospital after losing a leg and an eye and one of his best friends and then we're also immediately shown that the doctors who are helping him through this are literally Yoshi and the Mario side character rejects. This man has a cartoon character for a doctor. And it's played completely straight.

Aizawa is like a depressingly serious noire character who's been inexplicably dropped into a comedy series.
