Introduction to CT:
Met Ricardo our lecturer. He talked about the core of Creative Technologies what its purpose is, what it means to be successful in creative technologies and to grow our capacity to "think, do & reflect meaningful creative tech" He told us most of our work is going to be done ourselves in our own time.
Showing that most of CT is going to be self learning done by thinking, reflecting and improving on one-self consistantly achieving new heights and gaining new skills and knowledge.
Ricardo then talked about his own private life and all the experiences he has. How important it is to think critically in anothers shoes to understand their perspective, how sometimes one thing will not seem the same to you as it does to them, especially with indigenous and rural communites.
How important collaberation is with one another to achieve a bigger goal, only working with others and different individuals can you grow and "leech" off their experiences they've had.
Then Ricardo talked about coming up with ideas and putting things together is like planetary accretion. Small little itty pieces of random matter comes slowly together to form more rigid and concrete ideas with solid solutions that eventually become a final design. How ideas come together in this very chaotic and messy way.
Metaphorically indicating that final designs dont just come randomly/straighforwardly. They come from lots of hardwork and crafting with time and effort; the time and effort to fully realise what their project is for (user), object (the finalised creation), materials used and the purpose of the project (what it hopes to achieve). I strongly agree with the entire philiosophy of BCT.
