Henk Rottinghuis is a businessman based in The Netherlands, who has held senior executive and non-executive roles for leading European companies across various industry sectors. He is currently Chair of the Supervisory Board of Royal BAM, the pan-European construction group, Chair of the Supervisory Board of the international storage and transport company Koole Terminals and member of the Supervisory board of Damen Shipyards Group. Henk Rottinghuis has also held non-executive director roles for: ABN*AMRO (advisory board), Royal Bank of Scotland NV, DRG (food retail), Stork (technical services oil / gas / petrochemicals) as non-executive Chair, Blokker (non-food retail), Oranje Nassau Group (oil, energy), CRH (cement building materials), Wajer Yachts and Investancia (sustainable energy). From 1993-2010 Henk Rottinghuis worked for the second largest family-owned company in The Netherlands, Pon Holdings, running an Automotive Division that sold 150,000 cars per annum. In 2001, he was promoted to CEO, leading a group with €7 billion in annual revenue. He held these roles for nearly 10 years until his retirement in 2010. Earlier in his career (1983-1993) Henk Rottinghuis had started at the Royal Nedlloyd Group (shipping lines and logistics), progressing through several senior management positions, to latterly become Division Director for its Road Transport Europe division. Henk Rottinghuis has private investments in ventures ranging from sustainable energy to the media. He devotes a large proportion of time to a variety of sports, cultural and charitable initiatives – the most prominent being Vice Chairman of the Dutch Equestrian Federation, Chair of the Rijksmuseum Foundation and Board member of National Park De Hoge Veluwe. Henk Rottinghuis studied law at the University of Groningen (RUG) in the Netherlands and business administration at Harvard Business School.
