I explained the concept of "blorbo from my shows" to my 71 year old immigrant grandfather because I referenced it in passing and I thought nothing of it, until today when he said "I think I'll watch peaky blinders tonight and see my blorbo from my shows" referring, of course, to Cillian Murphy playing Tommy Shelby

Goodbye Tumblr!

I have made the decision to delete social media from my phone.

I've been addicted to Tumblr and Instagram and pouring so much of my time and energy into just endless scrolling. On Instagram I've gotten into the habit of purposefully engaging in negative content that hurts my self esteem and worsens my mental health. While Tumblr is something I've been using as a time killer and impulsively opening it when I get any moment of free time or just want to preoccupy myself. Neither of these behaviors have been healthy and I need to end them.

I realize that being on social media doesn't bring me any joy and that I need to start putting my mental health first. I've been stuck in a deep depressive hole and I need to take every step I can to climb back out. By cutting out social media I will force myself to start living again and partake in other hobbies and consume new media.

I will be occasionally uploading art and any posts that have been scheduled will still appear but overall I plan to not be on Tumblr or any social media as much as I have been.
