On Thanksgiving morning met up with Lauren to take photos of her family. We had planned it a few days before, her Mom Laura wanted some updated pictures and her Step-Dad Kevin was pretty excited about it as well. We started taking photos at their house in Waimanalo, in matching HI t-shirts and then ventured to Norfolk neighborhood and took more at a family members house. I was absolutely speechless when we pulled up because this house is worth over 5 MILLION dollars, it’s also the house that The Rock rents out when he stays in Hawaii. The yard was beautiful and everything was so green, seeing Olomana mountain in the distance made me so giddy inside.
Overall I was pretty please with how all the pictures turned out, we had done a few individual shots of Lauren too. The weather cooperated with us to get a lot of nice, clear photos.

I have so much to say about these next photos but just looking at them makes me so happy that i can’t formulate a sentence. Even writing that was a challenge...
I flew to Colorado and got to see my babies after 421 of being apart. We went to this beautiful park and even visited the north pole! It was a journey to get there but i’m so glad (and proud of myself) for making the trek to colorado springs.
Now being that this is my photography blog, i figure it’s important I list some of the info behind these pictures. Before leaving I dug out big bertha (my original baby a Sony A200, accent i know) and went to battery bill to get her up and running again. it has been years since I used her and awhile back she stopped charging. I wasn’t sure if it was the camera itself, or the battery but homegirl would not turn on. In the time since I had purchased my Sony NEX f3 and used that for all of the photos shoots i’ve done, but it just wasn’t the same.
I’m so so so happy that I was able to bring this camera with me and take photos of the kids and the place we adventured. I feel like stella getting her groove back being able to take photos again and hope to do more photos with her in the near future.

A few weeks ago I did a photo shoot for my friend Amanda and her husband Chaz’ family. Chaz’ siblings were all in town for the first time in awhile, and they were able to plan a last minute meet up at the beach park for some family photos. To be honest, I was extremely disappointed with myself and how the photos turned out. Aside from the fact that I don’t know all the details of what my sony NEX can do, it was low lighting from overcast rain clouds and the bright sunset behind them. I got home to edit the photos and send to her and I was almost embarrassed for her to see them and send them to her family as well. They were almost all grainy and the blown out by the lighting.
Im so thankful that I stuck with my gut to not charge her for the pictures. There are family members and friends who get me often for this, but i’ve said time and time again, I don’t feel comfortable with having people pay when i’m not 100% on what i’m doing. I’m thankful for them allowing me the opportunity to get my creative juices flowing and practice my craft with them.

Yesterday I had the honor of taking photos for dear friends of mine, Kaiena and Kawika. In about two weeks time (hopefully sooner) they will be welcoming twin baby girls into the world. I can not wait to see them start this new journey of parenthood together. My heart is so full watching two people so in love, getting to experiencing one of the many joys life has to offer.
Sunday, September 19th 2017.
