I had the fortunate experience of working in a tea cafe for over 8 years while finding my footing in my craft. Tea has become such an integral part of my practice, and it'd be super rad to open my own witchy cafe and metaphysical shop someday 🖤

My 3 Favorite Books ~ as a green witch 🧙🏼‍♀️
These three books have offered huge foundations to my practice and are ones I continue to reread time and time again to inspire and revive my practice and to welcome new wisdom by reading the words from a new perspective. They are great for green witches, druids, or anyone interested in nature based magic. 🌲
🌿 The Druidry Handbook by John Michael Greer
🌿 Natural Magic by Doreen Valiente
🌿 Braiding Sweetgrass by Robin Wall Kimmerer
If you have favorites in the realm of green witchcraft, druidry, or nature magick, drop ‘em below! 🌱

being obsessed with your god’s domain before you started worshipping is so reassuring…
like what do you mean you’ve been here the whole time? that you’ve always been a part of me lying in wait? that you, the divine, has innervated & enriched my life long before i acknowledged you were divine? SICK!!!

crafts/activities for lady hestia
that are not only "baking and cooking"
clay candle holders {air dry clay, polymer}
candle making {not only you can reuse and mix the candles you already have, leftovers of candles, but also i see so many candle making kits, so just imagine getting a tea for you and lady hestia and spending the evening making candles}
having a cookbook {activily looking for recipes, while scrolling pinterest saving pictures of pretty cookies and then trying to recreate them}
start a collection {shells, postcards, crystals, books, candles, blankets...}
make a craft/hobby basket {if you're a crocheting person - have your projects in it, maybe you also like coloring books - put one there, if there's a specific tea you want to try - put it there, when the time comes you will have a full set of hobbies to choose from}

creating tea rituals for lady hestia
start with pastries, if you can bake your favourite snack - gather your ingredients, put on your favourite playlist and make this moment special
prepare the place - burn incense, play calming music, clean up and decorate, make a place for your food and lady hestia's portion
tea tray - tea pot with your favourite beverage, your favourite cup and one cup for lady hestia, honey or sugar, lemon, whatever you like your beverage with
activities - drinking a warm beverage and eating baked goods can be a ritual in itself, but i like to add something - journaling, letter writing, creative writing, reading, crochet, knitting
the first and the last bite of your food and the first and the last sip of your drink should be reserved for lady hestia {if you didn't add a cup and a plate for her}
make a toast to lady hestia, say a prayer, or simply invite her into this prepared space and thank her
breath deeply, notice little things - the warmth of your tea, the crumble of the bagel you're eating, the wooden tray and how warm it is to the touch, look for lady hestia's presence
if you will use this time to journal - start with a written prayer, a piece of her hymn, a poem {even a few lines you compose for her will be more than enough}
don't think about what you're doing to much - whatever calls for you, you should at least try - maybe in the middle of writing a poem you decide you want to watch a movie, perhaps you will be overwhelmed by music and need complete silence
when you're reading - make notes & annotate, think as if you will lend this book to a friend, as if lady hestia herself will read it after you, which parts of the book would you like her to notice?
personally, i like to think that lady hestia is there with me, so i like to speak to her, most of the time in my mind or whispering - so if my activity is reading, i read out loud
remember that cleaning after the ritual is still a part of the ritual itself; it's still an activity sacred to lady hestia

I see too many people who are interested in Dionysus worry that he will reject them if they aren't some flavour of alcoholic, so I say this as gently as possible: please research him
Dionysus is so much more than some drunkard wine god who requires inebriation to worship him. He's a god of the oppressed, of insanity, of liberation, of death and rebirth, of fertility, and yes, of wine
He is violence and love, the calm before a storm and the rage within one, the breath before you scream and the roar of victory, communion and ecstasy, dance and utter stillness, anger and joy
And he will love you no matter what

In the witchcraft community we talk about witch's ladders a lot but y'all are seriously sleeping on the potential paper chains have. Yes the ones you made in Kindergarten.
For example, I just did a protection spell for myself and my community by making a paper chain from recycled local newspaper and some light sigilwork on each loop. You could do all sorts of workings with paper chains by changing the material, using color correspondences, sigils, etc.

Hestia is more than just fire.
She is in the warmth of freshly-dried clothes, the joy of a child picking paint for their room. The scent of your favorite cleaner and the theme song of your favorite show. You feel her in the familiar creaking of floorboards, the inattentive habit of taking the turn that brings you home. She is the Hearth, and the Hearth is a thing we create in the mundane patterns of our choices and the efficient routines we create over time.
I worship her by noticing these habits in their infancy and attending to them with intention. I devote myself to appreciating their ease and familiarity. I practice my faith by remembering, consciously, the thousands of small kindnesses I have surrounded myself with.
Hestia, who is Home… we create each other.

crystal magic basics 💎
a quick guide for using and caring for your crystal
— cleanse l it's important to cleanse your crystal of negative energies before and after you carry it for an extended period of time or use it in your practice.
methods of crystal cleansing
— water cleansing | mix sea salt and clear water from a natural source — such as rain or a stream. submerge your crystals and let them sit overnight. (don't use this method with crystals that are water soluble)
— smoke cleansing I pass your crystal through incense or herb smoke of your choice
— fire cleansing | quickly pass your crystal through the flame of a lit candle or match (safely and carefully! not all crystals are safe to pass through fire, so please do your research)
— salt cleansing | cover your crystals completely in sea salt and allow them to sit overnight before uncovering them
— earth cleansing | like salt cleansing, bury your crystals in dirt or soil and allow them to sit overnight before uncovering them
— program I after cleansing, you can program your crystal with your desired intention so long as it aligns with the properties of the crystal itself
methods of crystal programming
— visualize | hold your crystal in the hand that feels most comfortable, and imagine a soft light filling your crystal while you focus on your intention. rest when you feel you've activated the crystal
— communicate | while holding your crystal, have a conversation with it. this can be out loud or in your head. be sure to make your intentions clear and show gratitude when you feel your crystal has been activated
— familiarize | carry your crystal with you for a few days or weeks while you focus on your intent. eventually the crystal will activate by picking up your intentions
— charge | lastly, after you've programmed your intent into the crystal, choose a suitable method of charging it with energy
methods of crystal charging
— sunlight | put your crystals outside or on your windowsill in sunlight for the day. (this may cause color fading in certain crystals)
— moonlight | put your crystals outside or on your windowsill overnight in moonlight (pretty much exactly like sunlight but without the possibility of crystal color fading)
— your energy I hold your crystal in your hand and focus your energy into it, allowing it to charge
when you’re finished using your crystals, be sure to store them in a cleansed, sacred, and safe space.
and that’s it! you now have access to magic rocks. enjoy!
