Horns?

a/n: this is a drabble from when I was sixteen or something but I felt like it fitted here somehow so I tinkered with it a little bit so here it goes! It's somewhat like a audio journal, recorded a couple of decades ago, that She keeps because Shes fond of it.

I didn't used to believe that folks tale that the devil is extremely attractive until I saw her with my own pair of eyes, right there in front of me. I knew, I just knew, something was wrong when she walked into that bar, with that goddamn skin tight black dress and those thorn tights and that fucking fur coat. Since when women were so attractive to me? She sat at the stool right next to mine and in that exact moment I felt all the air around me shift.

I just could not stop staring, that was something about this strange woman that simply just pulled me in with just the strength of a black hole. Her scent was just so strong that it felt like a strong smoke prickling my lungs, it was dizzying. Everything suddenly tasted, smelled, looked like it was red to me. She glanced back and it shook me back from my trance, making me feel so flustered the only thing I could do was stare back at my drink. The ice was melting.

I heard her voice for the first time while she ordered a bourbon on the rocks. My ears stared ringing and I could only hear my own rapidly quickening heartbeat. Not ever someone's voice had such an effect on me. What is happening? I tried to calm down a little and looked at her again, I couldn't exactly fight the urge to do so. She was already looking at me spinning that ... coin? Did it just sparkled red? I shifted my eyes to hers and met the darkest most clouded pair of eyes I've ever seen. Wait, did they just sparkled red? My whole body shivered. Am I seeing things?

Here is where my memory starts to get kind of hazy. I remember her taking me out of the bar and putting that coat around me, filling me even more with that husky smell. I felt drunk, drugged, but completely sober at the same time. She guided me to a black car. It smelled new. I was still staring at her nonstop and she always stole a few glances at me with that little smirk. God, she was beautiful. When I came to my senses again we were getting off of an elevator. When did we even got here? How long did it took? Why am I even here? I never had a single idea of how to answer those questions.

She opened the door to the room, just to show a crazy huge suite painted floor to ceiling in all black, except the bedding, that were scarlet red. What? She sat at the end of the bed and I swear to god I saw her eyes glitter red again. Am I going insane? I immediately knew what to do, I felt like a puppet. I undressed completely and kneeled on the floor right between her legs. She touched my face and I felt bliss, like my deepest strongest desire was being fulfilled. Oh.

From then on I only remember the ecstasy and some flashes. Her naked body and her hand running from my abdomen upwards to my throat, that she held tightly bringing me closer to her lips, that burned so intently compared to the coldness of her hands. Two of her fingers so deep into my mouth and all my panting; wait, is this my voice? My body shivering for the fourth or fifth time, her moans and low whispers of my name making my ears ring once again. I don't remember ever telling her my name.

I remember waking up the next day laying in my own bed in my apartment, it was already 7 in the evening. What?! I felt lost. My body was still so heavy, so tired. From that day on nothing ever made sense in my life anymore. I didn't recognize my own family, my job made less sense by the day, I could not see myself in the mirror. I only ever felt at peace while letting myself go back to that day. She was the only thing that ever fit right. The overwhelming pleasure that washed over my body came together with every memory I had of her. I need... who is she?

At some point I started to feel sick, nauseous and drowning in pain and need. How do I find her again? I don't know her name, I can't even remember how she looked like. All I can ever remember are those piercing red eyes.

Some night I decided to walk around that first bar I saw her at, even though I decided I would never set a foot in there again. After some time going in circles, when I finally decided to go home, I smelled that scent again. Found you. I then knew exactly where to go. At some random pub, at the very last booth, sitting in the middle of the sofa surrounded by people was her, staring right into my soul again. I walked over bumping into everyone in my way like I was some kind of animal after its food till I found myself sited on her lap, she holding my waist whispering "What took you so long?"

I'm pretty sure that was the day that the curse was fully settled on me. She would come and go so quickly. The gaps between every time she showed up were longer and longer and I felt crazier and crazier. Am I really loosing my mind? She's been playing with me for three years now. The last time she appeared was three months and twelve days ago.

I keep trying and trying to find her. I keep going to that bar trying to find her again but I never get lucky. Her image is getting so cloudy in my head, it's sickening. The less I remember her, the more I feel like I'm going to go completely insane. I think I remember horns though, I'm not even sure anymore if they're really there or I'm just hallucinating st this point. It's been two weeks since I quit my job because I can't focus on work for jack shit. I haven't ate anything in two days, my body can't hold anything in. Will I even survive until she decides to show up agai...

Judgment and Circles

The Judgment

Hell is the place where those who sin suffer the consequences of their own actions and home of all demons. The Lord of the underworld is the one responsible for judging the soul as worthy of reincarnation or not. Those who Lucifer judges as a good soul can reincarnate immediately. He selects a life at random and sends the soul back to the human realm as a newborn. The reincarnated soul has no idea about their past life, although sometimes they can recall some minor details, but nothing major, when the system fails a little.

On the other hand, the ones who Lucifer judges as bad souls or sinners have to pay for the mistakes of their past life however the Prince thinks as suitable. The penitence is as severe and long as the wrongdoings of the sinner, according do Lucifer himself, going from helping as a demon for a couple of centuries to suffering eternal and excruciating pain in the deepest parts of Hell, or even going back to the human realm and having the most miserable life possible.

There also is a third option. The alternative being the signing of a contract with any of the available demons and becoming part of hell permanently. The soul can sign this contract either if they were judged as good or bad. For the good ones it can be a guarantee that they won’t have to come to lead a bad life and just be stable in hell. For the bad ones is a way to be forgiven for all the sins they committed.

After signing the contract, the soul is no longer a soul turning into a ‘Contract Demon’. The Contract Demons are assigned to a specific circle of hell depending on the sin that they commited, in the case of good souls they just get assigned to the same circle as the demon they signed with.

Hell "geography"

There are two ways humans can enter Hell: by dying or by the secret entry, the hole in the ground that leads to the stairs a long way down. The secret entry is a portal that changes its placement at random or as soon as someone is naive enough to get inside. Once the person goes down the first set of stairs they find a river embraced by darkness and a little boat. As soon as they get into the boat their soul now belongs to Lucifer and there is absolutely no way out. They ride for 3 whole days in complete darkness before getting to the gates of Hell. The gates are a physical representation of the portal that takes them to the circle they’re supposed to go to. Hell is subdivided in nine different circles. As one goes further down, the higher the numbers representing the circle is, just as the level of wickedness of the sins.

First circle

The circle of the ones who didn’t actually sin, but were carried there by Lucifer himself (like the Fallen Angels), or were born from a demon like the Cambions. This circle is the darkest one, being the closest to the entry of hell. It seems like an abandoned village but there, surprisingly, are beings living in all of the houses. At the edge of the village there is a forest that leads to the second circle.

Second circle

The circle for those who committed lust and sexual related demons. Home of Asmodeus and his subordinates. This circle is a desert with extraordinarily strong winds that can easily carry a demon from one side to another, and only one building right in the middle with a set of stair that goes upwards and downwards infinitely to its never ending floors. Going all the way down the stairs there is a door that opens to a shed in the third circle.

Third circle

This circle is for who committed gluttony and the demons who need to eat actual flesh and human meat to survive. There is a constant blizzard and hundreds of frozen lakes that homes sirens, who live under the thin layer of ice, and a couple of mountains. Between all the lakes lies one only cabin that houses Beelzebub. Behind the cabin there is a trail that leads to a cave in the mountains that leads to the fourth circle

Fourth circle

This circle is for the ones that were too greedy in life. It resembles a mine, going further down with no sight of the bottom. The lighting being almost nonexistent plus a hot and humid atmosphere, a lot of tunnels that seem like a maze with rocks and boulders that fall and roll from nowhere and vampires all around. Inside of one of these tunnels, if taken the right turns, one can find the home of Mammon. At the bottom of this mine-like cave is a river that leads to the next circle.

Fifth circle

This circle is for the ones who committed the sin of sloth. The river is actually boiling hot and never stops flowing at high speed so it drowns those who are too lazy to swim upwards. Besides the boiling river, this circle resembles a beautiful forest where the Fairies and Drudes live. At the top of some tree you might find a little treehouse where Belphegor lives. Following the river till the end, there is a waterfall that you can’t see the bottom of, that leads to the sixth circle.

Sixth circle

This circle is for those who couldn’t contain their wrath and unleashed it into somebody else, and for those who are in contact with their pagan beliefs, also called witches. Most of the residents here were women that were burnt at the stake accused of heresy that got access to actual power after descending to hell. This place resembles a gigantic cemetery, dark for all eternity, with a lot of graves, that are actually doors to the witches’ houses. The only backlit place is the huge tomb where one can find Satan drinking inside of one of the rooms that make this huge mansion. If one goes deep enough into the cemetery they can find a huge, dark and kind of creepy forest that leads to the next circle.

Seventh circle

This is the circle for those who are envious and those who committed the ultimate form of violence to themselves. There is absolutely no sign of life or happiness around this circle, there are dead distorted trees all around, a river that looks like boiling blood and ashes that forever come from the grey sky. A lifeless grey desert which homes the suicidals in the form of those distorted dead trees. Between the roots of the largest tree in this forest there is an entrance to the home of Leviathan and also the way to the next circle.

Eighth circle

This circle is the one that holds the cruelest punishments over and over. Some like having to live inside the memory of your worst fear or being ripped apart numerous times, all of these happen here and are executed by the Demons of Fate, assigned by Lucifer to punish those who will suffer for the rest of eternity. From the outside it looks like a gigantic jail with really tall metal walls all around with only one way in, a golden gate. Behind the enormous building there is an abyss that falls to the deepest part of Hell.

Ninth circle

The last circle is home of the proud and traitors. And home of the Prince of Hell himself. It is a small ice castle right in the middle of an ice cold lake that is bigger on the inside than on the outside. Filled with numerous rooms that no one except Lucifer can get in and out of. The main room is Lucifer's office, where he judges the dead and sometimes brings in some of his favorites demons punishing sinners for his own entertainment. Inside Lucifer’s office, on the bottom left drawer of his work table lies the soul bank.

Evangeline

Long before humans existed, even before God sent angels to earth, She decided that She wanted to create life from another form of life, then Evangeline was born. She took a bud of Her favorite flower, anthurium, and transformed it into a new born angel. She gave this baby to one of Her most trusted angels, Kai, to take care of and told them She would watch both of them closely also that Kai needed to report anything he thought as important.

Kai took great care of Evangeline. He taught them to be as gentle and kind as they could. He reported Eva's every move to God, every centimetre they grew, how they had no gender defined, how pure of a soul they were, until they were a full grown adult angel. God amusement by the creature grew bigger by the year so She decided that She wanted to watch Eva even more closely and invited them to live at Her lodging, a proposition that they could not decline.

Evangeline bid their farewell to Kai and left home to live together with God. Eva helped everyone with a smile therefore everyone that had contact with them took a liking, including God herself. She was infatuated by the beautiful being that spared no kindness no matter who it was. God decided that She wanted to marry the angel.

Evangeline accepted the proposal as soon as it was made, how could they not? It was their precious God that watched over them their whole life. God began to court Eva every way She could and was not subtle about it thereupon the angels caught up to what was happening and the news of the engagement spread all over heaven.

Angels from all over the sacred realm started to come to God's residence to try and see who was this creature that managed to conquer God's heart. Of course, upon meeting Evangeline, the angels were so astonished by their grace and kindness that the rumor of God marrying the kindest angel grew over heaven, what brought more and more people to visit. Eva was so content about how so many angels took a liking to them and approved of their and God's engagement that they on welcoming any angel that had come by.

As the amount of angels visiting grew larger so did Gods frustration that no angel was there to see Her anymore, only Evangeline. God got fed up with the excess of attention Her lover was getting and announced the wedding date then prohibited Eva to greet any angel until that date. Evangeline complied happily to Gods wishes, what one might think made God satisfied, which was not the truth at all. God was infuriated at how kind the angel were.

God then had a plan. She invited all of heavens angels to the wedding that would happen in a couple of days. Heaven as a whole was excited to the great ceremony.

The day had come. God was already ready, standing at the alter, from where She could see each and every angel of heaven watching and awaiting Evangeline. Time passed by and the angels started to murmur, where was the God's partner? Hours of waiting later and still no sign of Eva. God, heartbroken, decided to cancel the wedding. The uproar was loud, the angels were all revolted, how can someone abandon God on their wedding day?

God left the ceremony location and went to Her chamber, to find the unconscious Evangeline on Her bed. She watched as the angel woke up extremely confused. God was smiling as She told Eva what had happened that day and how every angel of heaven now loathed them. Eva sat there, confused still. They question God to what was the reason to knock them unconscious and make that whole scene.

God stood before Evangeline and looking at their eyes She told the angel that only one creature should be that adored in heaven and that creature was herself. Eva then understood. They smiled and nodded and told God it was okay, with the most gentle of look in their eyes. Something about those kind eyes woken up a rage inside of God, who grabbed the angel by the throat lifting them off the ground.

While clenching Her teeth, God said

- I am tired of this little smile of yours.

Then she proceeded to set fire to Evangeline's body wile still holding it into the air. Eva simply closed their eyes smiled whilst they burned to death.

Nobody on the sacred realms of heaven heard of Evangeline ever again. No creature knows what's happened and all just have chosen to believe Eva ran away leaving their broken hearted God behind.

The Beginning of All

When God first created the world she only created the animals, to send to earth, as the angels to accompany Her in the sacred realms of heaven. Then, some time later, She sent down to earth to cater to the lonely animals some hundreds of angels, after wiping down all of their memories of heaven. The angels on earth, now called the 'impure's, were mortal and carnal and the result of them reproducing being the so called 'humans'.

The new species could not access heaven any longer, otherwise they would get their memories back and remember how life was then try and take their beloved humans to the sacred land with them. The idea of impures and humans walking around heaven made God furious, much so She took action and called Lucifer, her most trusted angel, so he could be the judge of the in-between.

After one died, Lucifer was the one to decide whether their souls would come back to live another life or not, if so, erased their past life memories and sent them as a new born baby where he though it was suited.

Not longer after a couple of decades Lucifer started getting tired and bored of his job, so to have a little fun he decided not to wipe this impure angel's memories and actually giving back her lost past in heaven then send her back to earth. This impure, called Stella, grew up as fast as an angel due to her knowledge and spooked her human family.

She turned into an full grown adult angel within a couple of weeks and, along with her, her frustration and anger at God only grew bigger and bigger. Stella could not believe a sacred creature such as God herself could keep sending humans and impures back to this hostile earth.

By the time Stella turned 21 years old a great war involving most nations broke out, thousands and thousands of people were dying in combat or of hunger, such poverty the war created. The war went on for years and years to no end. The impure saw starvation take her mother and her dad never come back from war. After her mother's death she got fed up with the situation, how could God let this go through for years and not move a single finger to stop this cruelty? - She thought.

Stella was infuriated, with a heart full of hate she decided to fly back to heaven and confront God. Lucifer simply letting her through the holy gates like he had not even seen her. Stella found God watching earth kill itself and still do nothing so she exploded. She started screaming at God, demanding an explanation to why She had let this go on for so long and to finally stop the madness.

God felt insulted that one of her creations was talking back to Her, the most powerful being to ever exist, and set fire to Stella starting at her wings. She then told Stella that nothing could be done, the humans were doing what they wanted and against their will she couldn't intervene, then She watched as the impure burned to death.

God suddenly went mad at the sight of one of her creations turned to ashes right before Her and went to find the cause of this tragedy. After not much thought She went after Lucifer, clearly was his doings. God demanded explanations; if he had done the crime of sending an impure back with their memory, what could possibly be the reason.

Lucifer admitted doing so for his own entertainment and did not regret it at all. God was once again infuriated and set fire to the angel's wings, but Lucifer thought quickly and before he could burn to death, he grabbed God’s golden sword and cut off her own head. The fire stopped as God's head fell to the ground, eyes empty, just before it got to his back. Lucifer survived after killing God and was left with only the structure of his now burned wings.

Lucifer was boiling in rage towards God and that called sacred place. He rebelled and decided that he was going to create a new reign, from nothingness. He then proceeded to destroy heaven, and all of the angels that were left were to decide: be his subordinates or have their memories wiped out and be sent to earth as new impures. Those who decided to go with him were now what he called Demons.

Lucifer wanted his reign to be the exact opposite to what heaven was, so he opened one hole to the ground and carried every demon of his and God's head as his trophy to what he now called Hell.
