[↓↑÷×]
↓ - for the hardest part about playing my character
Anshi is very receptive to the opinions and attitudes of those around him, and despite the fact that he often chooses to ignore people's mindsets and moods, he's very intuitive. Unfortunately, I am not, so it makes it difficult to write him as such.
↑ - for the easiest part about playing my character
He never second guesses his words, so the moment he has a reply for something, he just chucks it out there. It's a nice change from cautious Quan and quiet Youmei.
÷ - for something I like about my muse AND something my muse would like about me
I guess I like how driven he is? He knows exactly what he wants out of life, and isn't afraid to take it for himself.
"I like that she leaves me alone when I request it."
× - for something I dislike about my muse AND something my muse would dislike about me
He's disgusting, the way he goes on and on about his conquests, both battle victories and others of a more intimate nature.
"She needs to learn her place; she's too opinionated and outspoken for a woman her age."

Battle intro: "Jeez, first Jingzhao wanting to spar, now you? Is it because Sima Shi told you I deserved to be punished for eating one of his baozis…? I just wanted something to eat, okay?"
Victory: "This can’t be… I-I couldn’t have done this… S-Sima Yan, you’re just resting, r-right?!
Defeat: "Ah… H-Here’s where I pass, I guess…"
Assist: "Here I come…! I’ll help you show them not to mess with the Sima family!"
Taunt: "Do I need to go easy on you, Sima Yan? You’re pretty fragile, yes? Haha…"
Reacting to Taunt: "Wha— hey! Don’t say that!"
Tie: "Well that was pretty fun. Don’t you think so?"
Perfect Victory: "See? We surely beat them. Job well done, Sima Yan."

"Cursed? I appreciate the show of humility, but as the son of an inferior son, you most certainly outrank me. There is no need for titles between family." Amber irises caught what light they could, glittering with curiosity. Did such wounds never heal? Where had they come from? "I'd say if anyone is unfortunate here, uncle, it would be you." The tone was certainly caught by the young Sima, though Anshi chose to pay it no heed. Leaning against the door frame, pale locks drifted over his shoulder as he tilted his head in study.
But he was hardly here to gawk. "Is that why they keep you locked away, like some grotesque monster? It hardly seems fair when others are allowed to wander freely with missing limbs and eyes and the like." Tone light and without judgement, he'd come to put the stories to rest. After all, even if he were the sort of monster rumor would suggest, then that would make two of them.
HeirOfTheSima has disturbed Sima Gan
Charred and burnt skin was visible beneath the loose bandages that often decorated his hands and arms, hiding the unpleasant image from view. Dark curls had been somewhat straightened and were damp, evidence that he had been bathing not too long ago and yet it was somewhat unfortunate that his nephew would walk in upon such a disgusting sight.
"Oh my, it seems that you have been cursed with misfortune for your lack of manners" Sima Gan smiled, his eyes hidden away, but the lilt in his voice indicated his displeasure at the boy’s lack of courtesy to knock.
"I would appreciate your eviction, my Lord"

"This is what started our conflict last time, that abrasive attitude. Has it occurred to you that it is precisely because you are not asking that I am refusing?" Blonde locks fell over his shoulder as he titled his head, bronze orbs meeting jade tiredly.
"Despite your welcome or your judgement, my lady, it is not your decision whether or not I remain. My arrival is a few hours ahead of my party, and I will leave as soon as business is concluded."

"Leave? But I've only just arrived," he responded easily, coming to a stop outside her immediate reach and folding his arms across his chest. Such a surprise, running into the tigress like this... perhaps it was some measure of fate?
Their last encounter had turned sour for similar reasons. The attitude of the Sun princess having grated on him, he'd pushed her to attack him, and things had quickly spiraled out of control. "It would be more than impolite to ask me to leave when I have been otherwise cordial."

Sima Yi's compliment pleased him more than he let on, the arrogant smirk that nearly always adorned his features becoming slightly more genuine as the moments passed. "This unworthy grandson is glad to have pleased you, and will continue to reach for greater heights," he responded, probably more formally than was necessary, considering the affectionate gesture he received. "It is not for my father's peace of mind that I have come to see you, but I will be certain to pass along the message that he has been neglecting his filial duties."
Taking a seat uninvited, Sima Zhao's heir made himself comfortable before responding. "Very little of interest, grandfather. Many of my hours are spent in study, although I have doubts about whether knowledge is best gained through memorization or practice. I suspect it's some disproportionate imbalance of one and then the other, but I have not yet had the opportunity to apply my knowledge to the field."

Sima Yi laughed as he watched the boy, amusement burning in the sulphur depths that made up his golden optics.
"Well, it appears that you’re a quick learner, Yan" The strategist revealed his hidden intent, reaching out to ruffle the boy’s golden locks that heavily resembled those of his mother. "There is no need to report anything, Anshi, tell your father that if he’s really keen on finding out what ails this old man he would come himself” He replied, his voice calm and yet held a firm tone that promised punishment otherwise.
"Alas, tell me, boy, what is it that you have been doing? You have grown fairly well since I last saw you" The dark haired man questioned, his eyes narrowing ever so slightly as he took in the boy’s appearance. There was the clear appearance traits from Wang Yuanji, but Sima Yan was not as quite he merely knew when to be silent. He doubted that Zhao had done anything remotely special for the young man.

More often than... what in the world was that supposed to mean? Golden eyebrows pulled inward slightly, mind running to discern the truth of the offhand comment. "I know that you love your kingdom, and you love your family, despite the long veins of faults in both. I know that regardless of the praise or condemnation, your interests are Wei's interests." The younger doubted that such an explanation would be sufficient to meet the silent challenge, but further thoughts had been interrupted by the connection of feathers with his head.
Resisting the urge to rub at the spot, polished bronze irises hardened in indignation, but he did not dare to speak out against the treatment. Despite his comfortable demeanor, Anshi knew better than to talk back to the patriarch for a punishment he likely deserved. "It is evident from the swiftness of your strike, grandfather, that you are still in good health. I will be happy to report as much to my father, when we next pass each other."

"Aye, more often than not" Sima Yi replied indifferently, moving away from the window, his fan making up for the loss of the cool breeze. "What do you even know about me, Yan?" It was mostly a rhetorical question, but he gave the young man a confident look as though challenging him.
The feathered weapon came down upon the unsuspecting boy’s head with a swipe, not really painful enough but just a little more pressure could have definitely left a mark. “Listen here you arrogant peacock, only I am allowed to say that I am old, you’re not, besides… I happen to be fitter than most youths these days” The strategist scoffed, though he was clearly pulling the young man’s strings.
