common misconception! Thomas Crapper didn't invent the flush toilet. it was actually patented by Alexander Cumming. what Crapper invented was the floating ballcock.

Sometimes people use “respect” to mean “treating someone like a person” and sometimes they use “respect” to mean “treating someone like an authority”
and sometimes people who are used to being treated like an authority say “if you won’t respect me I won’t respect you” and they mean “if you won’t treat me like an authority I won’t treat you like a person”
and they think they’re being fair but they aren’t, and it’s not okay.

Found several packs' worth of pokemon cards strewn across a target parking lot and took a pic to show my friends without realizing how much my outfit elevated the scene to "aftermath of a wizard duel"

Fictional swearwords so often feel wrong, becuase they either don't roll off the tongue well or are just lacking in any context. There are a few that work though.
"Storms" is a pretty good one from Stormlight, simple, striaght forward, and it's very clear why they use it in the world they live in. "Scruffy Looking Nerf Herder", an absolute banger from Star Wars.
But the best one? That's from Elden Ring. "Marika's Tits!"
honestly christianity really hit the jackpot with "jesus christ" rolling off the tongue as an expletive so well. the number one problem with fantasy settings is that whatever names you come up with to take in vain will never hit as well as "jesus christ"

*doom music starts to play* I actually kindof like scheduling these kinds of appointments now...
but seriously Fellas, don't forget to schedule a pap smear every couple of years just in case. If you still have a cervix you can still get cervical cancer. ilu
this has been a psa

It's wild that Episode 1 of Uzumaki gave us a PERFECT example of how to adapt Junji Ito's work.
It's wild that Episode 2 of Uzumaki gave us a PERFECT example of how not to adapt Junji Ito's work.
