a laugh escaped the younger girl's lips as she turned to see just how much distance she had on clarke. madi knew that the other could easily beat her, knew that she was letting her win. ❛ maybe you should get faster then! ❜ she called out. ❛ i know that you let me win, clarke. i'm smart. you can't fool me. ❜ it didn't matter to madi if she won or not. no, it was the feeling of running that she truly enjoyed. the freedom, the adrenaline, the wind in her face. it made her happy.

           it  wasn't  as  if  she  couldn't  keep  up.   clarke  had  navigated  these  forests  time  and  time  again,  she  knew  every  short  cut  and  every  path  to  take  to  beat  the  small  child  back  to  their  home  base.   but  there  was  something  about  seeing  the  gleam  in  madi's  eye  when  she  won  each  race  that  kept  clarke  back,   "   hey!    quit  going  so  fast  …  “   she  fakes  a  loud  sigh,  trying  to  pass  off  being  out  of  breath  as  she  picks  up  her  walk  to  a  slow  jog,   the  fish  they  had  caught  dangling  from  the  line  she  carries,   "  @hedaborn​  i  said  slow  down  .  .  .   you  can't  beat  me  again.   that'll  be  three  times  this  week.  ”
