just because i said we could be friendly, doesn’t mean you can call me and vent to me about your problems. that is EXACTLY WHY I BROKE UP WITH YOU (among other reasons) like why would you think that’s ok to ask of me i don’t understand…like the most self-unaware person in the world. all we ever talked about was either your trauma or you talking AT me for 30 minutes straight about the fucking law and me completely dissociating from the “conversation” entirely. all you have to talk about is your fucking trauma and I’m done with it. no, you can’t call me about the fight you had with your friends, I’m not your fucking therapist

it’s actually crazy how much healthier this guy is than me. me saying “it’s unhealthy how much i miss you” and him replying with “well that’s what we have therapists for …but i missed you a lot too” and me telling him i don’t wanna hang out with that group of friends, almost insinuating i don’t want him to hang out with them either.. he doesn’t start people pleasing and asking if i don’t want him to hang out with them, he tells me WHY he sees them under only very select conditions and reiterates that he’s not really friends with them anyway. he stands his ground and i think that’s amazing. i can’t even do that.

thinking about the fact that in order to serve on the jury of a death penalty case you have to be willing to impose the death penalty (i.e. not be categorically opposed to it on principle) otherwise you'll be dismissed, so juries in death penalty cases tend to be disproportionately white and male and have been shown to be more likely to vote for conviction. just in general death penalty as a practice is horrific and barbaric but this specific part of it also just feels so insane to me
