Now NPR’s Tell Me More is taking a hard look at African-Americans in the tech field. Throughout December, the show is inviting African-American tech leaders and entrepreneurs to talk about what a day in their life is like.

We are asking you to help us identify the 5 questions we’ll pose to them on Twitter as part of “A Day in the Life.” This is a chance to help shape the conversations and answer any burning questions you may have about working in the tech and entrepreneur sectors.

The Distance of a Day. A video of a sunset in Los Angeles made by my mother with her iPhone next to a video of a sunrise in the Maldives made by me. They were recorded simultaneously. At the exact same moment the sun was setting in Los Angeles it was rising in the Maldives. We were watching the sun together, thousands of miles apart.

Skinny, socially privileged white people get to draw this neat little circle. Everyone inside the circle is normal. Everyone outside the circle should be beaten, broken and reset so they can be brought into the circle. Failing that, they should be institutionalized or worse, pitied.

‘Why add another object to this world when it is overflowing with objects already?’, is a question Stéphane Vigny was asked and that took him into various considerations on his activities as an artist. The works of Vigny almost exclusively consist of converted or twisted objects. His pieces are often outright humoristic, at the same time they are thought-provoking for the viewer. ‘What inspired him to his work and what does he want to tell us?’, are questions we ask ourselves when looking at his transformed objects.
