Too bad we weren't able to snap a better picture. Today, we honored Nancy Amidei as a social justice superhero badass with our HEC “cape” at the Health Sciences Service Learning and Advocacy Summit! (second photo is the rockstar you all know as Kelsen Caldwell!)

Monday, May 18th, 2015 7:00-8:30PM IBEW Local 46 Union Hall 19802 62nd Ave Kent, WA 98032 (we will be setting up a carpool from the UW campus) Sign up here: http://goo.gl/forms/9DZmCIrz5M
UW's Health Equity Circle is holding an action assembly with Sound Alliance to pressure County Executive Dow Constantine to commit to transparency and community participation in the decision-making and implementation process. Health Equity Circle organizes to exercise power with communities, rather than to hold power over them. We need to stand in solidarity to ensure the levy fulfills that value by centering the voices of marginalized communities in King County. This is a phenomenal chance to see community organizing in action as well as show solidarity with the communities this levy affects.
