Ted talking about the first time he met his wife: “Us being the only two people in that big old parking lot at the exact same time. So random. No way for us to know that it was going to be the start of something.”

And then 2x12 ends with Trent patiently waiting for Ted in the parking lot even though he knows Ted doesn’t drive and offering to give him a ride home.

And even though Ted doesn’t accept the lift because he wants to walk/cycle home (maybe this is a sign he isn’t ready to take that next step, of being alone with Trent, of letting Trent see his home because he’s still healing) he voices his hope that he keeps seeing Trent around even though Trent could take off around the world and write about whatever he wants but he immediately reveals he’s sticking close to Ted, to home.

Trent isn’t going anywhere so long as Ted wants him around.
