(رياض الصالحين 597) Sa'd bin Abu Waqqas (May Allah be pleased with him) reported: Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said, "Allah loves a slave who is pious, free of all wants and the unnoticed." [Riyad as-Salihin 597]

Dealing With Short Tempered People!
Ibn al-Jawzi said: “When your companion becomes angry and says something that is unwarranted, you should not take it too hard. His situation is that of a drunken person who is not aware of what is taking place. Instead, be patient, even if it means only for a little while.
If you reciprocate his words with harsh words of your own, you become like the sane person who seeks revenge on a madman, or the conscious person who seeks retribution from an unconscious one. Look at him with a merciful eye and pity him for his actions.”

“Be polite in your sadness, classy in your pain, and grateful amidst your tears; for sorrow, just like joy, is a gift from God. It will only last for a little while then depart, carrying with it the details of it’s visit.”

Hasan Al Basri رحمة الله said:
Winter is a believer's most beloved season. It's nights are long for those who wish to pray, and it's days are short for those who wish to fast.

Shaykh Ahmad Müsà Jibril was once asked: "Why does my Iman keep getting low and weakens?"
The Shaykh beautifully replied saying:
"You're not the only one, my iman weakens, everybody's iman weakens. And that's why the hasanat, the fara'id, strengthens your imân. And likewise the sins weaken the Iman and not only that, being neutral weakens the iman. Always have your tongue fresh with the Dhikr of Alläh with the Qur'an. If you have time, do Dhikr, if you're in your car, put Qur'an, if you're home, have certain hours where you study the 'ilm, if it is at night time, do Qiyam. That's how a Muslim should be, don't let a second of your life go to waste. Not only does this occupy ones time in doing good deeds, but will keep them away from the haram and strengthen his imân."

I wonder how can anyone live without Quran and go through their days and nights without picking up the Mushaf and reciting through it, how? One should lament at his state of imaan if this is the condition, and turn to Allaah in sincere repentance and ask Him to open up the locks on that long dead rusted sealed heart so you can enjoy the wonders that His سبحانه words has to offer you

"إذا أراد الله بعبد خيرًا جعل فيه ثلاث خصال: فقهًا في الدين، وزهادة في الدنيا، وبصرًا بعيوبه".
“If Allah intends good for a servant, He grants him three qualities: understanding of the religion, detachment from worldly matters, and insight into his own faults."
القرظي | صفة الصفوة ط: دار الحديث (٣٧٤/١)
